Here is the end result.....
I have a few thoughts on how to make Speed Paints really work:
1. The preparation step prior to painting is key. The speed paints will interact with different shades of prime differently. Therefore, prime, wash with a darker version, and drybrush with a lighter version for the best effect.
2. These paints do not "cover" each other well. So, if you are painting one speed paint over another, you will want to hit it with the prime color again.
3. These paints take a bit longer to dry than regular paints, so give them the time they need to set.
4. They are thin, so can be worn off easily. Avoid handling as much as possible until you can provide a protective coat as you go or at the end.
Overall, this project took me about 1/3rd of my normal time to paint up figures to tabletop quality.
