MOB = Misters of Battle
Not trying to start a flame war, but honestly. Entirely new edition, there are rumblings that GW wants to wipe the slate and go back to the basics, and build from there. Understanding the implications, should GW begin letting MOB into the lore? I put "other" because there are some ultra contrarians out there that will gnash their teeth at being forced to answer Yes/No.

I think that would be BOB aka Brothers of Battle. So basically the OG Space Marines where they were just average dudes in power armor.

I mean, in principal, what is the sororitas?

It's the militant arm of the space-church, right? With a strong accent of the inquisition, fire, crusades, weaponised sinners, saints etc etc

Churches, tabernacles, prayers, organs, faith, Scrolls and so o

I mean, look at privateer press' protectorate of menoth in warmachine. Fire chucking religious fanatics that lived and loved to burn things and stick people up on menofixes (think christian crosses) and fuel their spells from their suffering - lovely folks, really. Always had a warm welcome.

It had sisters and misters in its knightly orders (exemplars and daughters of the flame) as well as temple militia and firebomb armed zealots. It worked really well in concept and was really cohesive in its identity.

Could a 40k space-church be mixed gender? sure, why not. So long as it's not a menoth knock-off and I think people would need to have some kind of a nod towards an all female unit to tie it into its origins.

Sisters are a religious organisation first and foremost, their troops are there to represent the ecclesiarchy. They, unlike marines, aren't mutilated and enhanced via organs and mental indoctrination.

So a "mister of battle" would be an unenhanced mortal male bodied trooper of the church.

Just combine Inquisition and SoB together. Make new Inquisitorial models and units and we kind of have GW's own thing. One could also make a point that there are more men in the SoB book than there are women in the BoB(Space marine) book as the SoB has priests, missionaries, Crusaders, and whatever unlucky sod is strapped to a penitent engine that one could interpret as male.

Personally I'd just love to see Inquisition put into an existing army so they feel like something fresh instead of a forgotten thing.

And given the Church is prohibited from having official Men under arms, the answer should be a no.

Wouldn't mind seeing a return of the entirely unofficial and spontaneous, honest Frateris Militia, however...

I was going to make a joke earlier about having men over arms... think surfboard guns... just so we could have Misters of Battle. That way the whole of the Sororitas' existence can just be a parody of the decree that prohibits the Ecclesiarchy having a standing army.

Now that we've had our comical break to try to smooth over the edgiest of edges surrounding this conversation... back to the normally scheduled trolling/internet point secondary objective grinding that typically happens in these threads.

Edit: Drukhari hellions meet Misters of Battle - crazy religious nutters riding around on hover boards! Make this a thing!
