After a long decade of pause in the hobby (work, travels, babies... you know the usual stuff !) I have a calm year in front of me and I wanted to dive back into an ocean of plastic, glue and paint.
But as I have only one year, and as a specialist of too much converting, slow painting and never finishing anything, I've decided to set myself a fierce goal of painting 5000 points of Orks in 1 year.
I need deadlines to motivate me, and i want to acquire new techniques and methods of painting and converting much more efficiently and faster.

The Great Patriotic WAAAAAAAAGH
I'm passionate about the WW2, and especially the kinda forgotten eastern front. So i've decided to add my love for the minis and T-34 plastic model to create an army of Orkmunnist with a "decade of war in front line" vibe.
It's more a general inspiration than a strong line to follow, the rockit launcha will be made as RPG-7 for example, anachronical but so cool and representative of a "soviet spirit"!
The army paint scheme will be green uniform and whitwashed armor plates (I love winter camos), with lot of rust. Green on green would have been meh so the red imposed himself for the skins, turning my Orks into living Kommunist propaganda !

To match the goal of 5000pts painted in less than one year I set myself strong rules to follow :
1 - rationalise convertions, and leave the minis alone ! All my old armies were fully converted, not this one -> paint the model, and come back to it maybe later to add thoses sweet platicard and greenstuff details
2 - painting faster, focusing on Wow effect, leaving the rest to contrast and drybrushing
3 - Run towards ennemy wiggling your big choppa !

I even have a sweet sweet excel datasheet to give me endorfina when I pinkifie a square. 1st OBJEKTIV - FULL PINK FOR CHRISTMAS !

Without further ado the first squads :

10 Boyz + Nob with Klaw

This is mostly a painting test squad, with tries of red skins from Baal Red lighted with dark skin tone, for this "peach skin" result that I kinda like. The leather will be treated with contrast paint for the next one (this old method is tedious for a meh result).

The nob is converted as a Political Komissar. It will be painted when the color scheme and the paint methods are final.

10 SnaggaBoyz + Nob with Klaw

To have more versatility all the helmets Boyz from my huge pile of BlackReach monopose Boyz will have a scythe to be potentially played as SnaggaBoyz.

10 Grots

The skin is lighted here with Ivory white, to have a lighter finish than the Boyz. It makes them look like lil' candy, I really like it.
I want to make them SSh-39 WW2 Russian Helmet when I will have time.

Next in line are 30 more Boyz and SnaggaBoyz, then the real fun begins with packs of StormBoyz, Kommandos and Defkoptas.

PS : You'll have guess that i'm not a native English speaker, feel free to correct me.

The red flesh on those look really good! Good luck with the targets... I struggle to do a squad a quarter, so 5000 points in a year is just mindblowing!

That’s a seriously ambitious plan, but you’ve already made a great start! The red skin is really well done, as are the chipping on their helmets/armour . Good luck keeping the pace going!

Mauser C96.

Waaaagh!
p.s поищите проект - stalinork!!!!

Thanks for the feddback guys, I appreciate ! It looks like the red skin is adopted.

9 more Boyz ! I

Group shot of the first batch of minis :

It's going to be hard to reach the 1st OBJEKTIV of 1500pts before Christmas, i'm going to focus on the next squads : chokboyz, kommandos and a few more boyz and gretchins. I think the boss and mek will wait a bit.

I also received my first 1/48 military kits to kitbash, but i'm questionning the scale :

Left is a 1/48 scale T-34 tank, right is the same tank at 1/35 scale.

Same dimensions as the trukk, but feels kinda small...

Here's with the transport compartment in plasticard project :

So what do you think ? 1/48 is enough, or should I go for the much bigger 1/35 ?

Same question for the KV-2 that I want to turn into a WarWagon :

Same hull dimensions, but not the same feeling...

I think for now I will go 1/35 for the KV-2 as Warwagon, and stay 1/48 for the T-34 as Trukk, wadayathink ?

p.s поищите проект - stalinork!!!!

The Stalinork army was indeed a huge inspiration that I found when I was doing my first research for the army

In the Pravd'Ork of this month :

Tadaaaaam, 40 Orkmunist done ! It rolls well, but it will be hard to meet the deadline, since I have less than 3 weeks left before christmas. But I painted more minis in those last fex month than in my last 15 years !

Boyz !

Boyz !

SNAGGABOYZ !

And since my painting bench is emptying I accelerate the conversions on the next teams :

My mountain of BlackReach Boyz + AT-43 Karmans jetpack = Sh*tload of Stormboyz

This was the first Kommando in winter Ghillie suit test, which I liked, and made me think that I don't really need the Boyz under the suit...

Sprues + Bitz + molded greenstuff head = Full Kommando team

The base suit is made with tissues + PVA glue, once painted I will glue the little bands one by one (hours of fun in perspective for christmas !)

Cool project, good luck. In regards to scale, the 1/35 is good for orks, 1/48 good for grots

That’s a cracking amount of ladz joining the waagh. I love that you saved the bodies of the ghillie suit kommandos, should help use up any excess arms and heads.
