I'll Be Back

Hello everyone !

I've come back to warhammer 40k few months ago (drop at 3rd or 4th edition) and I've got a necron's army that need to get transported to play some games.

I travel mainly by bike or public transport so I'm looking for a more backpack looking solution. I need something big enough to carry a necron's army from 1000 to 2000 pts. And nice bonus would be a bag that can be easily adaptable to house other armies I will eventually collect (thinking about drukhari).

After a research on the web, I found two choices that can fit to my needs : the dreadnought backpack from Tabletop Tyrant and the BP 43 (or 44 depend of the filling) from KR cases.

(can't put the links to show you the aforementioned backpacks. Sorry, I'm new)

Both look great and I don't know which one to get. I really like the cardboard foam box system from KR but I'm living in Canada and maybe KR is a bit expensive for delivery if I decide to buy more foam to fit in the bag. And talking about price, it seems that the tabletop tyrant bag is cheaper and the delivery is almost free ( they have a US store) if i want to get more foam.

I didn't find any review on these. Do you have any experience with theses backpack and/or with the brands ? Any recommandations ?

Have a good day !

P.S. I read a lot about magnetize case on this forum and reddit but I'm a bit worried about the weight and the travel by bicycle with all the bumps and all on the road.

I don’t have their backpack, but am a big fan of KR in general. Next time I order foam, I’ll probably grab a backpack for it, as I already have a kaiser 2 and 3.

They are mid range price wise last I checked for all the options. But worth what you pay.

KR's backpack is good. I have the 2 box one, and it works well.

I have the Dreadnought from Tabletop Tyrant. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Do your research and wait for Black Friday! (: Search on "best foam transport miniatures"

Miniature Market sells the Game Plus pack, which uses pluck foam. I've seen it on sale during the year, and MM is currently running daily sales, so maybe you'll get lucky:

Thanks you all for your advices!

And thanks for the website, looks nice.

For the DIY solution, I'm not confident yet. I've tried some (foam from Canadian tire) but felt uneasy when I was riding my bicycle.

Whatever the choice I'll take, I'll keep in touch and make a quick review of what I'll get.

About those backpacks... I totally get the struggle of needing something practical for transportation, especially if you're getting around mainly by bike or public transport. Both the Tabletop Tyrant dreadnought backpack and the KR cases BP 43/44 seem like solid options.

I haven't personally used either, but from what I've seen, they both have their pros and cons. The cardboard foam box system from KR sounds pretty cool for its adaptability, but I get your concern about shipping costs, especially living in Canada. On the other hand, the Tabletop Tyrant bag being cheaper and with almost free delivery is definitely tempting.

Remarkable that two accounts would sign up just to bump the same 2 year old thread.

You'd think after all those scrapes that bots would know by now not to commit acts of thread necromancy, locking now.
