Is the sagitaur sturdy enough to be considered a good heavy support platform?
In my head I’m comparing it to a dread.

I was also wondering is the l7 missile launcher and matr autocannon a combination choice or are they either or?
I’ve heard the working between books is different and i don’t see an faq on it.

Also… it’s been forever since I’ve played. Where do transports fall in to the force org, how do i choose them?

They are not bad. I would classify as a medium tank. T 7, 9 wounds and a 3+ save with void armor. Dedicated anti-tank will eat it pretty fast though.

I am not sure I would take them as simply gun platforms because shooting really isn't in short supply with LoV and those points could be used to fill out the board. Now... throw in a unit of berserks and it turns into a fun time!

the 6+ save is a real turn off to me

I'm using the Sagitaurs as missile boats and objective grabbers. Run out, throw a small squad on an objective, then throw out missile spam at targets of opportunity.

They aren't really a threat themselves, but any unit that can throw out 6 st6 shots, 2 st10 shots, and a st9 shot all at decent range, while having the ability to quickly push into the backfield is something you really can't ignore.

thanks cuda but how are you getting both an L7 launcher and Sagitaur launcher, arent they either or?

The latest point change for sagitaur has 10 points for both types of missles. Not to mention the model has both types modeled on the launcher.

And yes, I love berserks!

Both the new version of the codex and the FAQ say 10 points gets you both.

5+++ save as well, going up to 4+++ vs dmg 1. In Ymyr they get a 5++. 5++ 5+++ with T5 and 2 wounds sounds pretty good to me!

So i see two 5+ but what increases it to 4+ and where’s the 3rd 5+ come from?

Their own rule gives them a 4+ FNP against D1 attacks.

Yeah, Sags are pretty good especially with Beserks. I run 1x10 Beserks and 2 Sags in all my lists. My comp list is 2x10 Beserks and 2x2 Sags, full MATR autocannons.

You most the time have to hide T1 and get into position, then T2 and on you are feeding beserks into units with the 2-4 Sags (along with everything else in your army) shooting bubble wraps and other things. Bc Beserks fight on death and you generate a JT before they fight its not a bad thing to charge multiple Beserk units in a turn. After a Beserk unit is out you should have no fear of using the Sags for object holders, movement blockers, OW stoppers, and just shooting as much as you can too, they are not the toughest unit but also AoC+ does still help them out a bit and if they are shooting a Sag they are not shooting your Beserks/Pioneers.

Me? The first additional kits I picked up were a pair of Sagitars.

That’s the problem, i like them all… lol

A pair of sagitaur was actually what i was thinking too.
