I was wondering if there's anyone out there making rulesets for 6mm (or thereabouts) age of sigmar. There's plenty of modernized epic 40k rules being made by fans, was hoping for something similar for AoS rather than WHFB.

Not that I'm aware of. Warhammer Fantasy stuff is all the rage at the moment for use with Warmaster Revolution, which is solely Old World focused.

Any generic fantasy rules would work. HotT, Mayhem, Lords & Lands, etc.

6mm Stormcast Nighthaunt, or Kharadron miniatures would be awesome, tho. Any of the big "centerpiece" models of AoS would be great in 6mm, in fact.

AoS as a setting would be insanely good in the 6-15mm scales. You could actually have godbeasts on the table; you could have a really good representation for how insanely powerful chracters like Nagash are when they appear and wipe out swathes of rank and file troops.

Honestly fantasy works really well at those scales as a visual experience and it opens up so many doors. You can do raids on villages or even castles without having to have 20 people at the club group up and one insane person who builds half a room into a castle.

I'd love to see GW bring back something like Warmaster, almost more than seeing Epic 40K appear (but both slightly less than seeing AT get Xenos titans as that is at least within the realms of possibility if they can ever get AT out of the 30K era)

I make extreme small-scale figures (1mm scale) and use them in an Old World setting. So there's at least some interchangeability there. The attached screen is from an upcoming battle report video of mine, and you can see how such a small scale favours big blocks of troops. I always imagined AOS to be more hero-focused, but it's true the "god scale" units are very impressive when wading through armies of 1mm chaff mortals - none in this image, none in this report, but usually I field giant eagles for the elves, titan rock golems for the orcs, etc. At this scale, the setting's only tenuously linked to the GW properties. You can see from the board here, this particular report uses a heavily modified (that is, no rule is actually the same anymore) version of Perry Miniatures Travel Battle at 10x10 inches. This is about as small as the game gets, with multiple lengthwise boards being normal. Play takes about an hour.

Love the small scale stuff K.B., would love to see more, including the video battle reports. I just had some 3mm fantasy just arrived from microworld games but I would love to know more about 1mm stuff. It might make a great side project for factions not present in 3mm.

Also, have you seen this person's small scale creatures (they are meant to go with 28mm models)? I was going to order some for 3mm but they might be great for 1mm also.

In my day, you didn't recognize the greatest heroes of humanity because they had to ride the biggest creatures or be massive in size themselves. No, they had the most magnificent facial hair! If it was good enough for Kurt Helborg and Ludwig Schwarzhelm, it should be good enough for anyone!

Some of those would be quite nice for nurgle, the snails at least.

Thanks Samsonov, Microworld's 3mm range is just amazing. Not just the models, but the entire range itself - it's so complete, right out of the box, everything you'll ever need. That's rare for small scale stuff. Microworld also had some fantasy naval designs lined up for the same factions, but as I understand it the initial release (dwarves) didn't do so well, and so the other stuff got pushed back. He still mostly uses hand-sculpts, so no stls I guess.

I too looked at the snails and thought... Sweet Nurgle. ROK has a cool Youtube channel too, but I visited the Thingiverse page for the original stls. All my models are print-in-place, so it was curious to compare those dragonflies with my eagles. I'm always on the lookout for 1mm proxy stuff - my biggest success that way is probably using the Vanguard 3mm dreadnaughts as 1mm Knights for 40k (an army of 24 knights, built and painted in a single day, oh baby) - but these days I mostly just make everything I need myself. There are too many good options out there otherwise, it's impossible to buy them all.

For the OP, I should mention I've recently done some 6mm fantasy stuff (some jousting knights in armour) for extreme small scale fights, with just a few models fighting like the climatic duel from a movie. Mostly I find the small scale stuff, whether using small miniatures (with massive armies), or playing small games (with just a few miniatures), very neatly complements the normal game, be it AOS or Fantasy or whatever - like a filler game for inbetween normal games.

You know, sometimes you just need a REALLY BIG BATTLE to round off a campaign.

You could try regular old One Page Rules (Age of Fantasy) in small scale, I think there's even some guildelines in the pdf.

OPR is great, and also has rules for rank-and-flank which works better for small scale. But they seemingly want to avoid introducing too many heroic or titanic scale units, the designers seem to think they don't fit the way they write rules. And small-scale AoS would have a ton of room for big monster units. Stormcast dragons, dawnbringer moving city stuff, chaotic beasties, etc.

Seems like really big monsters would work in Age of Fantasy like Grimdark Future deals with Knights. Just big giant multi-wound characters.
