Wondering Why the Emperor Left

Canada

Hi everyone,

I have always found model painting to be good stress reliever for me, and I have a feeling that the upcoming months are going to be incredibly stressful. So I am looking for suggestions for a single larger model to have as a painting project to help with that. This is purely a painting project, so I don't care about the models gameplay value, only it's aesthetic value, but being easily available in Canada is an asset. So what have been some of your favourite models to assemble?

Thanks in advance,
Venser

I'm fond of getting dragons for 'large pieces to play around with painting'. Just make sure the dragon mini you're getting does not feature metal wings; it's a pain to get metal wings to stay on properly.

I don't know what it is about them, but I find painting Plaguebearers extremely relaxing. Doesn't matter if they're the original ones, the metals from the 90's, the revamped ones from the 00's, or even the plastic ones, I love 'em all. I painted over 100 over the span of a single week.

Spoiler:

I still have some of the metal ones from the 90's set aside for my homebrew dungeon crawl.

Not sure if it is big enough but I found Morevenn Vahl to be a very enjoyable model to paint. It's got a variety of materials to work on and is an impressive model when finished despite being smaller then say the demon primarchs.

I find that I really enjoy painting my Plague Marines, as you could paint them any way you want. Pre-Heresy colors, cool! Covered in rust, awesome! Standard color scheme, go hog wild!
