I am currently playing a 40k Crusade Campaign and I am attempting to obtain some Crusade relics. As best as I can tell, there are only two ways to do this:

1.) Win "The Relic" mission
2.) Win as the attacker in the "Retrieval" mission.

The problem is that you only have a 1 in 6 chance of rolling for the given mission in Incursion and Strike Force sized games respectively, and in the case of the Retrieval mission you must also win the roll off to be chosen as the attacker (there is zero reason to want to play the defender in this mission).

Am I understanding this correctly? Are there any other ways to obtain Crusade relics besides winning these two missions?

Thanks for the clarification.

You can just get one when a character levels up instead of a battle trait or weapon enhancement.

You are looking for the Relic requisition in the main book.

Crusade Relics are just another type of Battle Honour, you can choose to take one any time a character levels up instead of taking a Battle Trait or Weapon Enhancement.

GW really should have used a different name for them, because they have nothing to do with and behave almost nothing like normal Relics (other than being limited to one of each per OOB).

That is good to know. Thanks for the clarification.
