My opponents plays imperial gaurd and i have some problems winning the game with my spacemarines.

His 3000 point list

HQ infantery platoon12 stands + hq stand + 2 stand of ogress +9 chimeras
infantery 12 stands + 4 supportweapon stands
3 manticores
4 sentinels
10 leman rus battle tanks + aa
3 shadowswords + aa
2 fighter plains
1 warhound

My list 3000 point bloodangels space marines(normal spacemarine list)

assault squad 4 stands inc. chaplain
assault squad 4 stands inc.commander
terminators 4 stands in deepstrike
devestator squad 4 stands + rhinos + hunter (aa)
tactical squad 6 stands + rhinos
actical squad 6 stands + rhinos
whirlwind 4 stands + hunter (aa)
predetors 4 stands all lascannons
landraiders 4 stands
warhound

units i have to switch:

2 devestator units
1 tactical unit
1 scout unit
2 landraider units
2 whirlwind battery's
1 bike unit + 5 attack bikes
1 landspeeder unit
1 vindictor unit
4 dreathnoughts

Problems i get:

If i do an assault im outnumbert 3 to 1 or 2 to 1 if i charce with two assault units and i get killed by fire fights
Even if i let the landraiders and predetor shoot on his tanks i dont do enough dammage. because reinforced armour 4+
The artillery is doing fine, but 4 is a little low on bp, and the range is very short.
The warhound is very prone to be destroyed in turn one because he has the ranges with his shadowswords and its hitting on 2+(titan killer)
So every time he returns fire i have to make a lot of saves and spacemarines save on a 4+.

Im feeling i dont have the nummbers to fight him propperly

You must leverage the marines' superior mobility and initiative to hamper their plans. Imperial Guard will outman and outgun you if you try to take them head on. You're not aiming for a fair fight, you want to utterly destroy one part of their line and immediately fly or drive your troops to the next pressure point.

Always prepare your assaults by throwing blasts on the enemy formations. Use clipping assaults to only engage a part of the enemy formation and break them with kills. Hide behind terrain while advancing to charging positions and kill their artillery first. Always go for crossfires and use your retains to set up supporting fires before decisive assaults.

Unitwise, unfortunately assault marines are not very good and even less the place where you should be putting your characters. Land Raiders and Predators will not win against Leman Russes in a straight up shootout, but are better used to harry the enemy at opportune moments. Inspiring chaplains are great leading terminators in Thunderhawks.
