So I know the previous thread on the price rise was locked, but I couldn't see anything in there on the impending price rises for metal/resin models...

The UK price increase list (link: https://trade.games-workshop.com/assets/2023/02/Pricelist%20UK%20New%20Pricesv1.xls), looks to just be all the plastics as far as I can tell.

Given the announcement (link: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2023/02/09/pricing-update/) specifically stated the average 6% was for plastic kits, it leaves me wondering what the price rise for FW resin and finecast will be... The announcement also doesn't mention metal (rise or not?) at all!

I have some LOTR bits I was planning to get hold of over the next couple of months and now wondering how painful the increase might be as it's pretty much all metal or finecast that I'm looking at - the fact that the size of the increase is only specified for plastics means I can't help but think the increase on the rest will be much higher... So, is there any news or vague idea what the price rise, specifically for resin & metals, is going to look like?

They did pretty huge price increases last year on metal and resin. Like 20% on the metal models and even some plastic models went up by 33%(Riders of Rohan). Resin went up by 10-15% as well. So it is probably true that only some of the plastic lotr boxes get a 5€/$ increase at most and the rest is untouched.

Wouldn't be surprised if they did something sneaky though but I think we are safe for now.

You dare speak of what should never be spoken of?

Spoiler:
Finecast

Hold your tongue!

I doubt you will see any price adjustments specifically targeting non-plastic models.

Probably worth noting that list is intended for trade accounts (i.e. - retailers) and I'm not readily recalling any resin or metal products that would appear on such a list; most of those seem to either be limited run and/or direct only, so I'm not sure I'd read too much into their absence for good or ill.

Hopefully...! But hope is the first step on the road to disappointment...

I was trying to be polite... should have probably used air quotes though...

Unfortunately the pricing announcement does actually state resin (FW and Citadel - which presumably means "finecast"?) as getting a price rise too, so it isn't just plastic. However it is only plastic which they've been open about how much the price rise will be (the 6% figure is given as specific to plastic), which can't help but leave me wondering what that means the price increase on resin will be (surely if it was the same, or less, they've had mentioned it...?)...

Given I did intend (one day) to pick up the Primarch for my 30k Legion, I'm also debating if that's better bought now rather than later!

What is changing:
Plastic miniatures
Forge World and Citadel resin miniatures
Standard and Artificer Citadel brushes

Starter sets
Paint sets
Paint pots
Citadel Tools
Codexes, rulebooks and battletomes
Synthetic STC brushes

So resin is definitely go up, we just don't know by how much (??) and metal is neither changing or not changing, going by the list... But given the way they seem to have chosen what is changing/not changing I'd personally be surprised if metal miniatures were somehow the only ones not going up in price.

Yeah I assumed that list didn't cover anything GW direct only, but that leaves in the dark on anything non-plastic and, to be fair, a lot of the LOTR plastics too...

I thought you meant not allowed to talk about GW pricing because it will get locked again
