This is what I have right now. I'd like input as I've not played 2nd edition, but given the rules bloat and the presence of other players down to play it locally I'd wager its my main mode of 40k (I seriously can't take the constant supplement releases and every time I turn my head theres a battlescribe update).

Too bad its not late 4th ed (my favorite) or 5th edition.

The rules of 8th and 9th so far just serve to burn me out. Its so nauseating. Maybe I just haven't been playing enough.

Nope I totally agree. I can't get anyone to agree to play earlier editions around me. I did terrible things to people when they reintroduced harlequins to the eldar codex in 5th edition (was it 5th? via a white dwarf?) In fact I was doing terrible things with eldar lists in smaller games in general. Actually is larger games too. So much fun, so little time.

Oh yeah and games were 1.5 to 2hrs max, even 'Ard boyz wasn't more than 2.5hrs except for this one guy that was stalling, that was the only game to go to the time limit back in those days.
