The latest addition to my Sisters of Battle. Great models and for a Sisters unit, reasonably easy to paint. First time trying the glow effects with an air brush like this and I'm quite happy with it. The blood was also fun to do and adds a bit of gore and contrast compared to a very clean painting style for my Sisters.

Very nice. I especially like the look of the arco-flails.

I agree! Those flails are eerie! And I also like the contrast of the shadeless skin to the other parts of the models!

skin needs a wash before highlight. Wil help with the creases and vains.

Interesting notes on the skin. It isn't 'shadeless' on purpose. In fact, the skin is built up with several layers of paint, starting with a darker skin tone, then the actual skin tone and then a highlight. All with a bit of blending and a few coats of paint. I can see where the comments come from as some models look a bit flat. Both the highlights and shades are maybe too subtle. Whilst painting I found that too sharp contrast made the skin feel unnatural. I have in fact given a few models a wash, but ended up painting over most of it to reduce the shades as I didn't like the effect.

I'll keep this in mind when working on cherubs and repentia in the future. I'll have to watch some tutorials to see how I can get the skin to be less flat, but still normal looking.

skin is difficult 4 sure. Try test of wash, sit for a few minutes and then use something to absorb the excess by dabbing. Light, light dry brush on raised area after.
