Hello - so, I last really played 40k in Rogue Trader days, then moved onto other things. However, I've been collecting the Hachette Imperium collection, so now have a big pile of shame again, which is picquing my interest in playing (not competitively.) Part of the collection includes a couple of Inquisitors, and I like the idea of building a force around one of these guys and their retinue, supported by either Marines, or Sisters, or admec from the collection. What I can't tell is if/how I can build a force that includes more than just a single Inquisitor without breaking the rules on Battleforged (is that the right term?) - Basically - If I want to be reasonably fluffy to my idea, am I immediately sub-par in my force?

Rules for Inquistors are included in the Agents of the Imperium document here: https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/kKj593HK6K628syU.pdf

You can include 1 and only 1 Agent of the Imperium unit in any non-Agents of the Imperium detachment if it is an Imperium Patrol, Boarding Patrol, Battalion, Brigade and Arks of Omen Detachment. Otherwise, you need to use an Agent of the Imperium detachment to contain them.

Including an Agent of the Imperium detachment in your army will almost always reduce the power of the other portion of your army as it will prevent them from gaining a purity bonus most codexes have requiring all units be of the same faction and sub-faction (Like Ultramarines Adeptus Astartes).

On the other hand, including a single Inquisitor in a Deathwatch Battalion detachment gives you your inquisitor while allowing all possible bonuses to your Marines.

Agent of the imperium don't interrupt most purity bonuses because they have exemptions for agents of the imperium
