It's been a little over a year now since the initial post on WHC regarding models getting rotated out of the available range, with a promise that they'll turn back up at some undefined later date.
Since then we've seen further models disappear from the available range, some with articles confirming them as being rotated, some without.
With 10th edition on the horizon, this leads to three questions:
A, When do you think any of these models will rotate back in, if at all?
2, Will everything that has been rotated out make it into 10th edition?
iii, Why do I still have that WHC article open in a tab on Chrome?

A: I think they're quite happy on a farm up north in the country. No, we can't visit them. They may come around for a LCtB/on-demand run when their updated versions get made, maybe.
2: The troop options like the Wolfguard w/ Banner technically will, for the characters it's 50/50 at best
iii: It boggles the mind

One thing to note is many were finecast and I think this was just GW getting rid of it as a material as fast as they could since their plastic casting had not caught up to replace it all.
I would not be surprised if what we see happening is a few returning now and then, but with many being held off because GW is slowly working on a plastic replacement for many.

I expect range rotation models will come back on a limited-time basis when their army's new codex books go on order.
Some of the models I expect will be replaced by new plastic kits in some way, and never come back as they were.

Never quite got the difference between Range Rotation and Made to Order.
But honestly I don't expect retired models to return except at usurious scalper prices like the recent Steel Legion MTO.

Range Rotation is when GW removes a model but announces in advance of the removal that the model will (or at least is scheduled/expected to) return in the future.
This return will most likely be "Made to Order" over a limited timeframe.
The difference between that and one-off Made to Orders is that random ones are not pre-announced. The customers have no expectation that those models will be range rotated.
Behind the scenes another practical aspect is that models on range rotation will have their moulds and masters upkept and if they are going back into range rotation at the end of a return cycle then any worn moulds will be replaced.
One off returning models might not be maintained to as high a production return standard. Some might literally just be cast until the moulds break and, whilst GW might still have a master to make more from, they won't.
Eg when GW did a run of fantasy models the metal Morathi on Pegasus broke very early on and they didn't remake a new mould.
