Hey all, I've hopped on the tyranid band wagon for 10th so I have allies for my GSC (and tasty new models), but I'm running into a great deal of difficulty finding color matches that work.

I know that for my theme I want to do rocky textured chitin with trees and vegetation on it. I've used Citadel Armageddon Dunes to create the texture and I've got flora from epicbasing.com, but the colors to use eludes me. I don't want to do the standard grey rock/brown and green trees as I want something more exotic, so I've been trying to find colored minerals to use and I've spiraled into geological and ecosystem studies and now I've got my self all crossed up and confused.

Sorry this is long winded but I was thinking of something like sugilite or kareemerite (Both purplish) for the chitin, and maybe a cream for the wood of the tree? I'm not entirely sure, but I know I want a darker scheme for the nid itself, think something like the new nid scheme with the red Talons.


TL;DR I need to find a good color combination for tyranid claws/fleshy bits/carapace/mineral chitin/and trees/plants.

Any help, ideas, or any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
