All right. Back to my stupid Final Faction Toys As 40K Battle Titans idea. This is different enough, however, that I thought it should have a different thread,

So.

If you play 40k, and haven't read the Silmarillion, stop reading this right now, go dump gasoline on all your Eldar stuff, torch it, and start buying and painting them again after you've read it.

Now that you've done that, here's my thought.

My idea on the other thread (TOTALLY COOL AND NOT THE LEAST BIT HOKEY ) was that some Final Faction Kharn models would make halfway decent Titans (small ones, like Warhounds) for my 15mm 40k game. I found three, at least that, if painted in a relatively neutral fashion, and with banners switched out, where needed, would make decent Imperial, Nid, Chaos and Ork models. One each for most of the troops I'll be getting as infantry from Risk Warhammer 40k (note, if you're already projectile vomiting, turn the computer off now, it doesn't get any better), But what about Eldar Titans?

So, I got to thinking about this cuddly lil' fella? https://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Huan

Say, a relatively small faction of Eldar who look to Huan (or a similar Eldar 40k spirit) for their guidance.

He did some impressive stuff, including kicking Sauron's butt https://www.cbr.com/lord-of-rings-huan-wolfhound-defeated-sauron/

I promise I'll get rid of the cute little Chihuahua pilot, and replace him with a couple of Eldar...

CAN I HAVE ONE DADDY? PLEASE? IF I'M GOOD AND DON'T FLUSH MY BABY BROTHER'S HEAD IN THE COMMODE FOR A WHOLE WEEK? CAN I DADDY? HUH? HUH? PLEEEEEEEASE??

Well, evidently no dog lovers in Dakka, but I've decided I'm gonna do it! Probably stupid? Yeah. But I love the idea. I'll see what I can do about painting them up and making them look at least half-way decent.

Maybe also a rival faction of Dark Eldar worshipping Wolf-Sauron painted black with metallic-purple highlights and glowing red eyes?

Again, for a buck and a quarter, it ain't that much to lose.

As a not-dog-lover I come here to the rescue stating firstly that for one yes.. I have not read the silmarillion but considering I am a connoseur of (revised) history studies I think I've read as much in real history as what is in the silmarillion to begin with (loosely based on the ancient cosmogonies of our gael, gaul and northmen populations) but have never heard of this (dog).

Never ask online wether you should do anything because either you get the answer; do it' or you get the answer 'do it because noone really cares'. I'm personally the caring sort but will still tell you to chase your dreams, and if your (day)dreams cooked up the prospect of having this silmarillion dog among your troops then build it and he (or whatever it is) will come. etc.

Kind regards!

p.s. I couldn't find gasoline.

But... if I never ask anyone online what to do... I'LL NEVER BE ONE OF THE COOL KIDS

Heh. Just kidding. Gave that option up long ago.

But no, Huan is not from Norse or Gaelic myth, at least not directly. He's a creation of Tolkien, and one of the best parts of The Silmarillion, IMHO. https://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Huan
