This trailer basically killed any interest I had in the series...

cannot correlate their innate inferiority with their inevitable
defeat. It would seem that stupidity is as eternal as war.'

The story may be okay (the trailer doesn't do it any favors) but the animation itself leaves a lot to be desired.

Its pretty unremarkable as animation quality goes. I was trying to figure out the studio just from how generic it was (Ah. 'Powerhouse, who contributed to Castlevania, Blood of Zeus and Masters of the Universe: Terrible Revelations. That tracks).

I already want at least one and probably two of the 'main characters' to die horribly, so that's a pretty terrible way to start.

Storywise, 'looking for the girl' who already has the Icon of Macguffins and is a beast-bonded Chosen One of some description just makes me tired. No one needs to be a chosen one ever again, Ok? In a fantastical story, no one needs even more unexplained powers for no reason. Just use the setting as is and make the characters interesting as people.

I might have been excited to see this as a kid. I'm getting underwelming vibes from this trailer.

Two episodes in. Enjoying it so far. Typical vibe of the Netflix animated stuff, if you like those you’ll probably like this.

Binged it. It was ok, better than I expected, but very forgettable

I didn’t intend to binge it in one sitting, but my cat fell asleep in my lap and didn't get up until halfway into episode 7, so might as well finish it.

It was OK. Lots of random critters eating people, some giant monster fight action. It delivered what it said on the tin, with only the normal levels of plot holes/people being stupid. Chunk of world building for a short arc. I wonder if they want to use this to launch the monster universe franchise that didn’t make it off the ground in theaters?

My favorite part was the whale.

That was pretty funny.
Spoiler:

My first thought was “is the squid paying tribute to the king” to keep him out of the ocean. But I like the “fish boy just being a jerk” better.

I enjoyed the Skull Island film and hated the Godzilla ones so this has been quite fun so far.

Yeah the Whale was a really fun touch....

I enjoyed some of the girls uncaring lines.

I AM A MARINE PLAYER

"Unimaginably ancient xenos artefact somewhere on the planet, hive fleet poised above our heads, hidden 'stealer broods making an early start....and now a bloody Chaos cult crawling out of the woodwork just in case we were bored. Welcome to my world, Ciaphas."
Inquisitor Amberley Vail, Ordo Xenos

"I will admit that some Primachs like Russ or Horus could have a chance against an unarmed 12 year old novice but, a full Battle Sister??!! One to one? In close combat? Perhaps three Primarchs fighting together... but just one Primarch?" da001

I honestly forgot about the Godzilla netfix ones. They were not good. Either as anime or Godzilla movies, both of which have a pretty wide spectrum of quality with a very low bottom.

The girl’s unfiltered 0-F***’s given attitude was often amusing.

My only issue with the girl is her perfect spoken English. Which yeah it would be annoying if she didn’t, but it was definitely something I was cognizant of.

Anytime someone is raised by wolves from 7 to 17 you are going to get a lot of plot holes.
