I bought these in Germany about 1992, I have a Japanese gate on the bottom of one as the only markings
Bad enough as Xenomorphs, weapons and armor are overkill.

It looks like that first figure may have had it's legs bent to create a running pose.

The "Japanese gate" markings on the base were from "Fantasy Forge" of Scotland, whom they were first made by.
The moulds got picked up by Scotia-Grendel and at least some of the models were re-released under the "Grendel" label. The big human "Nexus Federation" storm striders were, at least. (The original FF ones had metal legs, feet and weapons and resin bodies, the grendel versions swapped the metal legs for resin ones, like the bodies).

That's an interesting bit of information, thanks! I've got several different Striders. All with metal legs. I knew that was an earlier version, but not that it was a different company.
Great models that I've gotten alot of use out of running 28mm Mech Attack games at conventions.

I'm "social media " friends with one of their former sculptors. He told me a fair bit (and he also worked on their resin hex-tile cavern set that they did. The ram-skull cave mouth was his, at least. But I also have several of the metal/resin hybrid storm striders, as well as a later mostly resin version - and two of their "future skirmishy" vehicles. The security/police grav car and the wastelands buggy. Which also got redone when Grendel took over. The resin was the same, but they used a slightly darker tint on it.
