How do!
Been roped into this one and it’s quite good fun. Wasn’t sure where to put the thread, hence “electronic version” in the thread title.
Feel free to add me. My screen name is Gonnatron9000

I think so.
It’s kinda fun, but today, I have mostly been Governered by an uncooperative deck.

I sent a friend request, your twice my level!
I just made my own decks now, it’s very shiny. They basically just take the normal TCG and made it faster, and smaller.

Thank you
It is fun, if not a little frustrating when your hand is crap, and you’re forced to play crap Pokemon you then can’t do much with, as your opponent rapidly evolves beyond your capacity to do any real damage.

Both the pocket, and full TCG are very fast TCG. So will be curious where they go with it.
This feels more focused on collecting so far
Edit- I hit this and my starting hand was Mewtwo and that’s my basic.

Finally got the evolution set to filed a Machamp EX. Took me ages to find a Machoke.
Also? The AI cheats horribly during the expert solo battles. Stiffs you on your cards, always has a counter.

The Ai is a pain for sure, also hoping the next pack has some interesting cards to switch up the meta.

Yeah.
Water and Psychic are spoiled at the moment. Misty can break the game, and both have unfair EX Pokemon.
They can be beaten, but you need to decent deck, know how to use it, and not get shafted in the draw.
It is of course early days, and as you say as more decks come out, in theory the less obvious the meta will be.

Pikachu decks also common it seems.
Been hit with a few turn one misty decks, but also fun when it fails and they concede since faster to just start the next match.
We are supposed to be getting a 4th pack selection around the end of month it seems, so possibly a shake up, or extra decks.
I’m hoping for something that makes multi type decks a bit more viable.
Draganite so cool, but so slow and need luck.

Not got a Dragonite yet. Or a Dragonair 🤣
Currently trying to get my digital mitts on a Sabrina or two. My Fighting deck has had success with Grapploct walloping something then punting it back to the Bench. But to just one card, no energy that has a definite appeal.
But they do need to balance out the Trainer cards. Misty is way too good, as even a single Heads is powering stuff up, where say, Brock, can only ever it do it once. And once you’ve had Misty provide 7 energy in a single turn? You just don’t want to play that deck ever again. Especially as she’s typically powering up Lapras and Starmie, both of which are already super efficient.

Misty is probably a problem card, since could power basically any Pokémon that can use water.
Being a coin toss more annoying to play against at times.
Dragonite can do 200 damage, but good luck getting there as it’s Water/electric/colorlessx2 energy.
Sabrina is almost a must run card to yank Stamie back out to whack it!

Misty did me over again this morning.
6. 6 sodding energy. And it’s not as if what she powers up are typically energy hungry.
Starmie Ex? Just two, and then it’s 90 Hp all day.
Lapras? Just three, and it continuously heals itself.

I see someone get 14, what is the odds!
Jynx can be fun to punish it, but setting up a jynx is harder than misty :0
I’m mainly debating if I use all my pack opening items now, or save.
Also there is an achievement coming for a five win streak, that’s hard even with a top deck as the three big ones bully each other effectively.

Just had a run of a very misbehaving deck.
But, I have a solution.
Take out Polywag and its evolutions, putting in a Froakie and a Frogadier. Both OK in a scrap on their own, but it’s Geninja that’s the star player.
Water Shuriken allows me to deal 20 Damage to any opposing Pokemon, even from my own Bench. And at 60 HP for 2 energy, it’s pretty efficient. Does horrible things to a Fire Deck. But most importantly, let’s me snipe and weakened any Pokemon I fancy, making it harder for my opponent to swap out heavily injured ones for fresh fighters.
Also leaves me another slot, which I’ll consider carefully what to fill it with.

Ohh cool I haven’t got a greninja so didn’t know what it did.
I been wanting a vaporeon, Jolteon and a flaireon. But haven’t got any!
I’m mostly just running mewtwo and Gardivor since it’s the deck I got at this point until I get my 45 wins.

Mewtwo I’ve got, but Gardevoir, like Sabrina, continues to evade me Automatically Appended Next Post: And I just discovered Pack Points. Earned for opening packs, you can exchange for any card in the set, at varying values.
Just bought 2 Sabrina, 2 Misty and a Koga.

Nice! Also make sure you use pack points, they get wiped it seems when they rotate out the packs they are for. So may as well use em early for cards that help.
I just need five more wins! Will probably get those today if I get time.

Just need three wins. But the game has decided No More Wins it seems. Combo of bad match ups (first turn, two Pikachu EX and a Zapdos EX!) and absolutely awful opening hands (Froakie, and nothing to evolve it with)..
Should polish it off tomorrow. And despite the arse kicking, now I’ve a decent deck it’s not feeling anywhere near as one sided. Automatically Appended Next Post: And that’s 50 victories! And half way to Level 20.
Last battle was against a Steel/poison deck which was a novelty.

Just did a Turn One, Two Card Combo.
Playing my water deck.
Put the basic Arcticuno as my Active Pokemon, with a Froakie on the bench.
Opponent put an Abra as their Active, with nothing on the bench.
Played Misty on Arcticuno and flipped up 3 energy.
60 damage off the top rope, Abra went splat, and that was the game.

I’m trying a dragonite deck today, it’s a lot of thought for very iffy returns. But dragonite is cool!

Now keen to get me a Venusaur EX. I’ve got the regular one, but it just doesn’t quite have the oomph I need.
Otherwise, my new Leaf deck is proving quite tricky for opponents. On a good day, the Venusaur is self-healing 30 HP per attack, and Butterfree is adding another 20 HP. Deck also contains two Potions for 20 HP a piece, and two Erika’s for 50 HP a piece.
When all is out, I have a couple of turns of near invulnerability, as I can heal back most damage completely.

Liligant looks good as well, but I don’t have the venusaur EX ether for a grass deck.
Need a bit of pack luck now as well, but maybe will wait for new packs before I build new decks if I not super lucky.

Litigant is an odd one.
If I can get it out as my first, and evolve it straight away, it can do decent damage, but it’s real benefit is letting me mill through my deck for other Pokemon, letting me set up main plan quite rapidly, even from a bad opening hand.
But, mid to late game? It’s not massively useful, as there’s a lot of stuff that can one-shot it.

The one shot meta is quite difficult for a Lot of Pokémon.
I trying a wigglytuff deck now, it’s not fast but it’s fun. Also heads on a persion has had several concessions now.

Which rules throwing you off?
I’m waiting for new packs now, the meta needs some shake up I think.
