The model comes with a plastic stand that looks like a gush of smoke to suspend it in the air.
So I didn't insert that and instead it is balanced on a thick paperclip, disguised as a straw from a discarded drink cup.

Interesting choice with the golden chair. He's such a humble guy. The base is the real winner here. The discarded drinks and the comic on the ground adds a lot of character to this model.

I went with gold purely because I didn't want to paint slabs of desaturated yellow that he is normally portrayed with in comics and cartoons.

I had seen on on face book another modeler where a paperclip wire was used to hold him up, hidden in grass tufts (using the same base I did) as if he is exiting a garden/field back onto a raised pathway, and that originally was how I was going to do it, even green stuffing a base in preparation.
I use alot of drink cups with added straws mad of paperclips in my MCP models.
I then struck upon the idea that if I used the straw (1.5mm instead of my normal 1mm pinning paperclips) and it went through the disguising cup and into the base, and mount int at the lowest point of the chair it would give even more lift and a better illusion of levitation.
