I'm looking for a matt varnish to protect models painted with contrast colors. I tried Army painters "Anti shine matt varnish" but while it is a solid product and a lot less shiny as for example Citadel Munitorum varnish it is still satin-matt at best. The look is Ok on some models but I would prefer a truly matt protection layer. Any recommendations?

Scale modelers swear by this stuff:

Came to say this. Learned about it in a Duncan Rhodes video ( https://youtu.be/QSKkwDRzuTw?si=51JjRSfE0EEncgxH ) , and I really like the finish of it.

Mr Super Clear semigloss is a classic top coat. I haven't heard as much praise for their matt variety, but then again, never tested it myself

I use Vallejo 70.520. I am pretty happy with it, but I need to try this AK stuff.

Please check out my Facebook page. Like it if you would.

I've seen good reviews of the Monument Hobbies Matte Varnish, but I've not had the chance to try it out myself as of yet:
