Hello there,

I got started in early 2nd edition 40K and it made a strong impression on me, I really like most of its basic mechanics.

I used to post on several early forums like Heart of the Heresy and The Eastern Fringes in the late '90s and 2000s, then Portent, and Warseer.
I took a big break over the last 15 years but I've been drawn back in and started with a few games of classic Warhammer Quest.

I looked around at a few active forums and Dakka Dakka was the most appealing.

Welcome back,

There are sections of Dakka set aside for old versions, but you'll have already found them.
If you still have your old stuff, get them uploaded to the Gallery. We're all up for a bit of nostalgia.

Thank you for the welcome.
I am looking forward to gradually unpacking all my old stuff from 120 litre storage tubs.

Cheers, I have about 1.5 companies worth of Space Marines, never added it up but must be around 10,000 points worth in 2nd edition. I started collecting with Space Wolves (very first model I ever bought was a Long Fang with heavy bolter, around 1994) but gradually became embarrassed to play them and switched to fielding generic Space Marines.

About 3000 points (2nd edition) of Sisters of Battle.

Probably 5000 points of Dark Eldar. I wrote a lot of rules to adapt them.

3000 points of Eldar, focused on Guardians, support weapon platforms, Wraithguard, Wraithlords, and Warlocks. No jetbikes or tanks. No Aspect Warriors.

1000 points of Chaos Space Marines.

1000 points of Tau. I wrote rules, mostly for my friend who had a huge army.

I want to refresh my Dark Eldar with the current range, and restart with Space Marines from scratch, probably paint them as Crimson Fists. I really like many of the current models (Intercessors of all types), and really dislike others. Focus on an infantry force with Dreadnoughts and transports and Vindicators and Whirlwinds.

Realistically, in terms of what I will actually play, it will probably be WH40KQuest, which makes me regret not collecting Orks or Tyranids or (traitor) Guard to use as bad guys.

Welcome! Lots of 2nd ed. fans here, and quite a few Portent/Warseer refugees.

Want a better way to do fantasy/historical miniatures battles?  Try Conqueror: Fields of Victory.

Do you like Star Wars but find the prequels and sequels disappointing?  Man of Destiny is the book series for you.
