I am planning to convert a Chimera set to a command Chimera and have an eye on this upgrade part from Kromlech:

It seems to be made for the GW Rhino kit. Could anybody who owns a Rhino measure the width of the Rhino hull without the side parts (so just the width we see this piece fits on) so that I can guess if that would fit on a Chimera hull? That would be great

The width of the hull between the track sections is 4.3cm on all three models I have access to (standard 40k Rhino, Sisters Deimos based vehicles, Horus Heresy Deimos Rhino).

Nehekhara lives! Sort of!

The bottom of the hull is about 4.3cm between the tracks but I don't think that was asked.

The entire width of the top of my standard Rhino hull, from side to side, is 72mm. If I exclude the width of the side walls (about 2.5mm each) then the actual bit of plastic that forms the Rhino's roof has a width of 67mm. Same for my unbuilt Sororitas Rhino.

The equivalent width on my standard Chimera is much less - about 49mm. It is also a totally different shape.

For reference: here are the measurements on my Chimera. While it is converted for the "mid turret" variant, one gets the picture regarding the widths

Now @ Bilge Rat: looking at the second pic from my first post, those side parts that are not part of the "Command module" look a bit broader than 2.5mm. But unfortunatly it is really hard to see. I guess I will take a shot and order that part, maybe I find a way to put it on the Chimera.

Edit: found another pic where you can see the piece better:

So it seems much narrower than the whole Rhino. But on a second look I have doubts again if this will be the road for my command Chimera. Nonetheless posting here for others considering the conversion

It looks like it is about the same width as the section that sticks out at the back, which is 44mm
