Subject: Army expansion advice! Orcs & Goblins

Hello!
I'm getting back into the hobby after leaving it for some time, was a massive fan when I was younger especially of Fantasy. Seeing that the Old World is a thing, nostalgia is hitting hard and I'd love to jump back in and play some games (I live near Glasgow if anyone has recs please let me know).
I was wondering what to add to my list to make a decent list (or how to expand the Waaagh in general) that would be fun and around the right points to get some casual games going (between 1,000-2,000 iirc?). Here's what I have:
Battle for skull pass: 40 night goblins, 20 night goblin archers, 10 spider riders, shaman, goblin boss, 1 troll
20 Black orcs
Black orc big boss, black orc battle standard bearer
5 goblin wolf riders
Thank you all, looking forward to get back into this wonderful hobby!

Monsters, monsters, monsters. A Wyvern seems to be a must, a generous sprinkle of Mangler Squigs, Giants, Troll Hag, big squig character riders, shamans too.
Units apparently exist only to be devoured by magic and monsters unless you can pull off some kind of a weird killy combo with their composition (like an ASF super killy character in the front rank or something like that)

Some power pics of the army are boss on wyvern, BSB on black orc chariot, squig hoppas, fanatics, and doom divers. A large block of poisoned bow nightgoblins supported by magic is seeing a lot of play right now as well.

Do yourself a favor and don't fall in the "what's the actual meta" trap.
Pick what you like and it's gonna be fun to play in a casual environment.
Of course, if the local gaming group is the die hard tournament player type, you have only three options, to listen to the recommendations above, get used getting steamrolled, or leave that group of players with their boring tournament lists.
You already have a good stock of models.
I would recommend you try to get some more trolls to accompany the one you already have.
Also, some spear chuckas or rock lobbas will surely be helpful, or a doom diver,
2 shamans are usually no mistake, and a chariot or two are also cool units to have.

Snotlings, snotlings and more snotlings.
Being unbreakable and with a mass of wounds they are a nightmare for opponents to shift.
Avoid pump wagons, too unreliable in movement and at 2d6, way too slow.
I ran 4 in 10 straight games and got into combat on my terms twice....
Units of 3 gobbo charits are good.
Spider riders have been good with the poison.
Wolf riders on a flank are hugely maeuverable and in every list I play.
My doom divers and rock lobber and bolt throwers have been very hit or miss, either dominate or do nothing. Very frustrating.
Giants are a great distraction and if charging into cav or surviving a charge wreak havoc on cav units. I find they just get tar pitted vs large infantry, or elite infantry (chaos especially) just mow them down.

Is there something wrong with Ork Boyz in Old World? This poor boss doesn't have a boy to his name!

Infantry in TOW suck.
Elite infantry (especially heavily armoured) like chaos warriors can usurvive but when you get outranged by cav/chariots/monsters and then loose your entire front rank in combat and then even if with spears you are mediocre line infantry and cannot manage to wound your opponent. No amount of rank bonus will help.
The only effective ranked infantry I have found for O&G is Night Goblins with fanatic spam as they can whittle down the elite enemies. But once the fanatics are gone the infantry blocks return to being hopeless.
At least in 8th edition you had the step forward rules and could get some attacks back.
Outside of chaos warriors (even then normally 6-7 models in a single rank), or archers it is rare to see ranked infantry in my local group of 15+ players.

Not an orc player, but if I would be I would get some of those 45pts ballistas. BS 3 is not bad on a bolt thrower with range 48. S6 and AP -3 shoots through and through, multiple wounds 2.
