So I have an idea to make some Warhammer armies in 1:72 to play in that tiny scale with friends once a month. I will use stl files and bought 1:72 minis to make 3-4 armies with oldhammer style. I'm starting with Skaven army, I posted some minis in other Topic, but I created this one to share all 1:72 Warhammer minis I make.

And this is my first work in this scale, Cromarty Forge's Ratmens, wich will be propably used as Clanrats or Skavenslaves. Background art is taken from Warhammer wiki, but I can't find author. Full image is under this link

Its even signed, but I can't read it somehow

Any feedback will be awesome

Very interesting project.
1/72 (20mm) is uncommon for fantasy and sci-fi but it does offer a level of visible detail that is approaches 28mm and is far better than 10-15mm.

Will you be using the soft plastic ranges such as Dark Alliance and Caesar?

Yes, both Dark Alliance and Caesar (wich I think is even one company by the way) inspired me to think about Warhammer in 1:72. In fact I wanna even use Caesar minis for lizardman and Skaven army, and Dark Alliance LOTR based sets for High Elves.

One of those two have very cool Undead set with two Vampires, skeletons and ghosts too, I want to base most of forces for those 4 armies on Caesar and Dark Alliance sets, and print in 3d some more untypical stuff like Doom Wheels or dragons

Sounds like a solid plan. Looking forward to seeing it come together.

Next unit in 1:72 Skaven army are Plague Monks; the sculpt is also from Cromarty Forge, second of three units from this company in this project; third are Rat Ogres, but now on I will work on Skeletons from Caesar Miniatures. Enjoy and give feedback

Thanks

As mentioned, first kit from Caesar Minis is done. Those are skeletons from "For The Lich King" kit, 1:72 stuff with lot of minis in cool price. I also have two Vampires, some ghosts and three Necromancers from this box, wich I will do for Undead army too. My first impressions with Caesar are overall good; cool and detailed sculps, lot of stuff in one box, nice price. Basically whole starter army for 14$. One problem is this plastic; its cheap as hell, soft and flexible wich can be cool in funny way durning painting; You can move a bit arm of the mini while painting torso on example. Also all minis are a bit "deformed". From one side same postures are a bit different wich looks cooler on ready regiment, from the other some minis has problem with stability while standing.

Anyway I'm talking too much, here are minis

1:72, this is the way.

I'm gonna slowly be doing the same for 40k. Slowly.

Whoa, that's cool. Are there any 1:72 kits for 40k? All I know about is this small scale GW made for Horus Heresy, but I think it's even smaller

Also, new Caesar Miniatures' Undeads are finished. Those are Ghosts, I had 10 of them in kit, but decided to make 3x3 unit. I made them custom bases witch acrylic transparent plastic, so it looks like every other row is flying higher than previous one. It's also first time I have made fog effect out of cotton. Even if brushwork doesn't look as badass as I wanted to, I'm still happy with some new techniques I started learning with those minis

Feedback as always appraised
