Has a certain darker green tint on it your change on the immortals, i like.

Thanks Not Online!!!! (Three exclamation marks in name, one for grammar) Yeah, I'm not 100% consistent, which I don't mind, I'm not against changing recipes every once in a while. I had forgotten that I wanted to switch to black-with-metallic-edges for the weapon casing for the warriors though, oh well.

Olthannon wrote:Nice one Gwyn, those warriors and immortals look excellent. Really great job with the older edition minis.

Thanks Olthannon! Frankly the warriors aged well, other than the green tubes they're still a fine kit. Now that we have tons of things to replace green tubes with, it's all golden!

inmygravenimage wrote:The zzap is also exceptional.

Thanks Graven!I think it looks even better in the Tesla carbine than on the gauss flayers.

I forgot to post the rear photo last time, so you can see the piping and more of those crystals I love doing so much.

Now the bone parts of the face are highlighted, I love doing the faces.

The immortals are looking superb Gwyn. The weapon glow and lightning bolt are getting me excited for painting some of my own! The switch from blue to green was definitely a good choice. Apparently Coco Chanel used to say “take off the last thing you put on” maybe she was taking space murder robot colour schemes!?! perhaps she was an old one or c’tan?

I like the stripe, gives them that whole machine army look, now you'd only need a symbol for nummers and start numbering them through

Cannot beat a mixture of Royal purple and green on Necrons IMO, great stuff Gwyn.

Definitely a case of "too many colours". Same with my old idea of having red for crypteks and canoptek units. Chanel knew what she was talking about!

Not Online!!! wrote:I like the stripe, gives them that whole machine army look, now you'd only need a symbol for nummers and start numbering them through

I decided to leave off with the squad shoulder-markings, I find they don't show up really well on the purple, and I want to keep the heads from getting too busy. If I was doing a classic silver shoulders, though? I would 100% do squad shoulder numbering.

ListenToMeWarriors wrote:Cannot beat a mixture of Royal purple and green on Necrons IMO, great stuff Gwyn.

It's just classic!

And now I got the purple all highlighted up and with a little speckled depth to it, it's even better!

And the steel is highlighted and cleaned up, plus drybrushed/highlighted on the black gun casing. Basing is started but not finished. Next pics should finish them up!

Great job on the finished necrons, I love how those cut up sprue bits on the bases look so I've nabbed the idea for my space marines!

Good luck with the Flesh Tearers!

Make sure you have a sturdy and sharp knife for the sprue cutting, the thick pieces of sprue can be tricky!

It’s subtle, but a little bit of blue tone to the highlights of the black does wonders!

Did the various badges and markings!

I’m having second thoughts on the numerals on the knees though. Would it be better to use the more complicated official Blood Angel squad markings, with a coloured spot on the knee with a specific design in it? What are your thoughts?

Loving the Flesh Tearers! They look suitably Space-Marinish (with just a hint of cartoonish or knightly heradlry), but also deadly real. Nice work!

Mostly, on my phone.

Looking brill. A suggestion: use a little flat flesh (or whatever your preferred skin tone is) to highlight the red, especially the drops on the shoulder pads. It avoids the Pink Problem plus hey, they're flesh tearers, so give them some Flesh

Good thinking. I've been doing a slightly reddened Cadian Fleshtone on their armour, but for whatever reason not for the drops. I mean, I'm already not super happy with these drops, but have decided they're good enough for my purposes. But the next ones I do I'll definitely do that!
