Any chance that anyone knows if GW will re-tool Harlequins? I have a box of them in my basement just waiting to come out and play.

Harlquins are now an elites choice in the new Eldar codex. Jes has expressed interest at making new models but they wouldn't be avalible at codex release time.

Only thing I've heard was from an upper level manager in the US. He said he had seen the models, they looked fantastic, and he can't wait to get some for himself. Crossing my fingers that turns out to be true.

I've got the old codex but I'm not likely to run into anyone in my neck of the woods who would be willing to give it a go. I don't often get to play outside of tournaments. Arranging to play a more creative style game is problematic for me as I don't spend alot of time at my FLGS, mainly due to the company there, and it's a bit of a long trip to get to where my old gaming buddy has moved to. I need up to date official rules for my little ninja space clowns if I ever want to take them out and play with them.

That to bad. Its better if you have regular opponents or can go to a store to play. I played a guy with his harlequins. I swear he just made the rules up as he went along. in combat he hit first (ok) then he said my men could not hit back unless they passed a ledership on 3D6 at -2ld. I did not know better (then) and took his word for it and kept getting spanked. Although my shooting never killed nothing due to 4+ reroll a apart from when i had nothing left to shoot apart from a flamer which ingnores cover saves which is what he said he had. I dont know?
I still played him again but was more vigilant with his rules interpretation. I did get to hit back this time as the 3D6 thing was my moral check if I lost the combat.

My harlie question as follows... is there any chance I'll be able to use my harlequin army as such? I.E. can I use three big ole squads or are they 0-1? Can you upgrade troupe leaders to Great Harlies, Shadowseers, etc? Are mimes anywhere in there? Deathjesters? Venoms?
Or will I have to buy an Eldar army and use just one squad of harlequins, thus damning the rest of my harlie army to a short but hopefully sweet life on Ebay.

Present rumors say Harlies will only be an elites choice in the Eldar Codex. However, if they prove popular and there is demand, GW has left the door open to make a Harlequin only list in White Dwarf a la Kroot Mercenaries.

I think its more likely that we will see an end of edition outcasts codex (so dont hold your breath). Studio claims to be interested in doing exodites, and Harlequins have such a massive fluff presence that there is ample material to work with. throw in eldar pirates with rules similier to demon and witch hunters for bringing allies and you have the makings of a very interesting codex.

I believe the Warseer rumors were that the other types of harlies would be unit upgrades, I think Death Jesters and Shadowseers were specifically mentioned. All the troupers are armed with harequin's kisses which now count as rending claws. I don't recall seeing anything about a 0-1 limitation online, but wishing doesn't make it so.
