The one is similar to a dropship I've seen somewhere...but no they aren't all BSG.
It sort of resembles the ALiens dropship a bit.

Yeah, it was more of a show. The guy who had the big LST also had a booth selling self-made kits of those tanks, and custom Minifigs, and weapons. The tanks were priced at a sharp $100+ pricetag though, I passed.

Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed. The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force.

That is badass! The Dark Red color is fairly new too a.k.a. rare, and probably a little more expensive on bricklink.

Looks like it was made from Atlantis sets - my boy has some of those and the colours/pieces seem to be the same - but yes, it's Lego so expensive is par for the course I guess - although I do find that some great bargains can be picked up at boot fairs (similar to yard sales in the US - i think...) I do like your progess though on the Death Star, have you got to the detention centre yet? "Uh, we had a slight weapons malfunction, but uh... everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here now, thank you. How are you?"

You gotta find the right ones tbh - generally those at schools are good as parents are trying to clear out old toys, the big fields full of open car boots are bad - too many traders...
eBay has also somewhat dampened the market though as people get more savvy on what stuff is actually worth, but there's always those who just want rid of the clutter and can't be bothered to go through the hassle of listing everything - it's all down to luck
Oh and don't go on a sunny warm day (if they exist in the UK), if you go when it's cold and wet you can get better bargains as the sellers are fed up and just want to go home... At least that's my experience

The chances of finding LEGO like that are rare, IF you find some, they will mostly be primary color bricks, which usually don't help builds like that. No there is an entire secondary market for LEGO, www.bricklink.com, buy, sell, trade by the piece. That's the only way to go other than getting lucky or buying sets just for parts.
