Neat mix of models, some very cool throwbacks from my youth. Only briefly saw VOR as none of my shops carried it.i wasn’t a Rackham fan(style wise), only the Wolfen Drew’s my attention.

Nice work all around though.

Thanks, guys.

Theo, their style wasn't for everybody. Personally, I loved their work. Had a lot of their minis stacked up before selling my Devourers and Dwarves and moving a couple forces worth of Undead and Griffons onto my friends in hopes of playing again. Didn't work. Probably should have just kept the models. Still have my Wolfen, Sessairs, and a small force of Mid-Nor Dwarves. Oh, and some of the humans from the Ophidian side. Apsotates and so on. One day.

Finished some stuff. First, LE Dreadball trophy from the first KS. Intended for use as a score tracker. If I ever play again. Played one game, gave everyone in the group a team of their own to drum up interest, aaaaand...that's as far as that went.

Then I finished the Wendigo for Malifaux. This is another big deal, as he has sat partially painted on my desk for years. Not sure why, especially now that he's done. Seems to have been a simple enough thing. I hated this mini for a long time, sitting there, mocking me with his many tiny parts and fiddly assembly and long-shanks cowboy scenery piece. However, now that he is done, I am glad to see him take his place next to the rest of the crew, which he completes. Starter box done. After several years. Over five. Again, never played the game, but they make some very cool minis.

And the whole crew together for the first time. Chilling out, as it were.

And the Last Shadow King, the Lord of Cynder, Beli'al, is complete. I feel as if this one worked out rather well. Quite happy with him overall. Fun model. Fairly easy to paint, as he is basically four big parts: cloth, wings, armor, smoke.

And here he is facing a charge from the brave kunoichi of the Oishiikage ninja clan...

Plenty more in the works. Dread's body is done, first set of guns is close, Beholder, Eldar, mushrooms, Dreadball. Should be prepping the Gael from Celtos soon. Hope you all are staying safe and well.

Thanks for looking!

Beli'al is a triumph, great variety of textures and holy hell those wings. Props on finally struggling through the wendigo, that's a sculpt that's grown on me over time, with the cowboy prop and all that.

Congratulations on finishing the Wendigo! it looks great, and must be such a great feeling to have it complete after all these years. I've been enjoying your Beli'al all along, but wow is it amazing finished .

Love that Wendigo, the ice magic effect is especially good. That was always such a great looking Malifaux crew, so am happy to see it fully painted up.

Beli'al is equally as good, love the work on the gem on the shoulder armour and the wings are suitably gruesome.

Now to get that Dread done as Dreads are the best.

So much great stuff, loved the throwback photos, those were really lovely! But Beli'al is just amazing, bloody and fleshy wings combined with turquoise robes... count me in! You've done a marvelous job on that sculpt.

Wendigo and Belial are both amazing! I really like the ice effect on the cowboy, and the wet-wings on Belial.

Thanks,

Wendigo and Belial look fantastically. Like slinky says, the bloody wings are great, but the gem work on his verdigris armour is my favourite bit

The Wendigo is hilarious - and Belial is sublime with all the different effects you managed to pack in there an have them all work together.

Always great to knock one of those old projects off the list and you did a stellar job with it too. Love the frost effect you did with him.

I’d have bought more malifaux if they were similar scale to just about anything else I do. As it I should I’ve only gotten the big oriental dragon from them.

Beli’lal looks like he’s about to have a party. Not sure if I’m envious or scared for him .

Thank you very much, everyone!

Kid Kyoto, yes, and odds are the last time you heard it, you heard it here. Trying to keep that torch lit.

Theo, both?

Dread is done. Pics hopefully tonight. Also have a Teraton and an "artist's proof" of the Reaper waiting for varnish. Quick pic of things in the works.

Thank you all again, and thanks for looking!

That mushroom chick is far bigger than I thought (unless that's the artist proof you mentioned )! And damn the Avatar is real tiny.

I do bounce around...

No, that's her normal size. She's a big'un. The artist proof is a copy of the mushroom Reaper in raw metal with a black wash and a plain black base. I have multiple copies so wanted to be able to have one preserved but displayable. And yes, old Avatar is just a little guy.

Wendigo's ice magic is indeed a... *puts on Mr. Freeze sunglasses* cool sight. Transitions like that are real fun to work with when all goes right.

Echoing the love for the wendigo - you can almost feel his icy touch.

Beli'al is also magnificent - the two different effects in the robe twisting together is really striking. Wet wings incredible. Armour suitably ancient and mystical. It just all works!

Excited for the next batch. Shark man, shark man, dun dun dun...

Thanks, guys!

zahnib, are you sure you didn't mean to post that in graven's blog? I consider myself to be a glacial painter, but any progress I have made I attribute to really trying to do something every day, no matter how small. Continual forward movement. And posting here helps a lot. Sharing helps keep me motivated.

Dread is done. May I present Sergeant Narem Ossus, former Devestator, interred after being blown nearly into oblivion by an Ork rokkit strike.

And a group pic with some more of the Imperium's loyal defenders.

I really need to get a squad's worth of Marines painted for times like this...

Thanks again for all the love for Beli'al and Chilly. Sharkman's comin'! Thanks for looking!

now THAT bad boy is right up my alley! Great weathering & work on the lenses. Love that you've differentiated the dirt/rubble around the base lip too - nice touch. Always fun to hear the story behind the mini. Hope to see a few more dreads in the future...

Lenses and lights are great on that dread, wonderful work overall!

Think he could snipe the wendigo before he gets turned into a slushie in his sarcophagus? Mini-game, here we come!

Thanks,
