He may well be getting push back about whether he'll keep getting the info in advance so he can publish these articles,
I could see GW (maybe hachette) being annoyed that certain issues are being massivly overordered which would be much harder to do if we only found out about the contents from the previous batch of 4 issues
so it could be he's playing the 'i'm being responsible' card to argue for keeping being given the info well in advance

Honestly if anything getting over-ordering info early is better than late. It gives them time to react. The ball drop was allowing stores to way over-order on stock that likely has a fixed finite amount. That issue was going to sell like mad no matter what and GW knew it. Yes if we didn't know till launch day chances are we might have avoided the over-ordering as the stock would already have gone out; but there would still have been the huge backlash. Asides if it wasn't him someone else would leak the info.
This has just shown a weakness in the ordering system for the companies involved to fix and hopefully means that future popular issues will be safe.

He explained why they don't produce more of obvious ones. Go and read article.
It's not intended for certain magazines be produced more. If it was there would be 2 options. Either magazine price goes up whole range or cost of those specific magazines go up so saving is more like 25-30% top.
This isn't meant for veterans to spam cheaply and gw won't produce enough for that without asking from hachette more than it can pay profitably for 9 pound magazine.

Dark Sphere have decided to stop stocking Imperium as of issue 18, so looks like it’s back to just Forbidden Planet in the UK.

They probably got burned hard on refund fees, esp when it wasn't their fault and its likely shaken their trust in the magazine firm to not do the same trick again in the future.
FP has a policy of only charging pre-orders when they get the stock in so they like as not didn't suffer as badly because no money had yet changed hands. Which is honestly a really handy pre-order system.

I hope that people don’t blame Darksphere for the stock issue, they were clearly misinformed by their supplier. They must have had a hell of a lot of refunds to sort out, many of which would have been partial refunds and altered orders rather than straight refunds, it would have been a not insignificant task to sort it all out. I’m not surprised they decided to stop stocking it.

Meanwhile, I got a replacement sprue of Warriors through for the one that got doubled up in issues 9 and 10. Unfortunatrly, it was the same one again.
Ah well, at least I technically now have 10 Warriors and 3 Scarab swarms, (well, 12 and six, actually) so ... I'm OK?

Issues 23 (spiders) and 25 (immortals) are already sold out on forbidden planet. Guess it’s a made dash around local shops on release day if I want to grab those units at a bargain price.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money. |

My two #10's finally came from fp and they're duplicates of 9. Think I'm just gonna wait until warriors appear again later down the line and buy the opposite sprue for them. What a pain.

With issues 9 and 10, you would get 10 warriors and 3scarab swarms. Even if Hachette send out the wrong sprue again as a replacement, you’ll get 12 warriors and 4 Scarab swarms, so you’ll come out ahead no matter what happens.

For those awaiting their chance to subscribe and wondering if Premium is worth it, I've received my first Premium set. This one is Chaos Marines.
Now, long time players may find nothing new here but then, Imperium isn't necessarily geared for us. I don't have Chaos Marines and am always happy to have something different to build and paint. J may go for Word Bearers.
url=https://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/1128619-.html]
The set comes with an Imperium style booklet containing background, building instructions, a paint guide and points values along with a Noctilith Crown cut out for the game scenario.
url=https://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/1128622-.html]
The delivery also includes a letter detailing the first opt out purchase, an art book similar to the one that came with Conquest.
I'm always happy with an art book and this one should collect Marines, Sisters, Necron and Skitarii examples.

Collect Masses of Models as Warhammer 40,000: Imperium Releases Outside the UK - WarCom
Last year, Warhammer 40,000: Imperium launched in the UK, a magazine series crammed with models, paints, tools, and more for the budding hobbyist. The series was such a hit that it couldn’t be kept to just one region, and now it’s ready to launch in Spain, Germany, and the United States.
Imperium is a perfect starting point for newcomers to the hobby, featuring guides and tutorials aimed at getting you acquainted with everything Warhammer has to offer, while building up two seriously impressive armies as you go.
Space Marines lead a charge of the Imperium’s finest*, including Adeptus Mechanicus and Adepta Sororitas forces, against a host of ancient Necrons across 80 feature-stuffed issues.
By the time you’re done you’ll have a massive army to battle it out over some incredible boards and scenery. You’ll also have a fantastic collection of paints and tools, and you’ll have learned all the skills and techniques you need to build and paint even the most advanced Warhammer models.
The first four issues of Warhammer 40,000: Imperium are available in Spain and Germany this week from Hachette and your local Warhammer stores, with the collection launching in the United States from the 26th of January.
The magazine will be stocked in newsagents and specialist stockists, while the first four issues will also be available from Games Workshop stores. You can also ensure you never miss an issue with a subscription,, which you can take out directly with Hachette.
You can even expand your collection further with a premium subscription, adding four additional forces from Chaos Space Marines, Tyranids, T’au Empire, and Orks to experience a wider spectrum of what Warhammer 40,000 has to offer.
Head to your local Warhammer store to pick up the first four issues this month, or get every issue delivered directly to your door by subscribing now.
* Including the Primarch Roboute Guilliman himself, no less.

Just saw a TV spot for Imperium - issue#1 will be available in Germany starting tomorrow.
|
7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks do not think that purple makes them harder to see. They do think that camouflage does however, without knowing why.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |
