Apparently, when you become a Venerable Dread, your pollution output doubles, requiring 2 extra exhaust stacks.

That thing is just silly!

A missed opportunity to get the other weapon options on the frame too. WE didn't need another twin-linked lascannon or missile launcher, but we could have used a twin-linked autocannon... or two!

I guess I'm the only one disappointed with the new Killa Kan look. IMO those look much less scrap-build and much more cartoony. Also the lack of weapon choices is turning me off. The new DCCW look a bit overdone too. The price is very nice, though.

I wonder how close to the old look you can assemble these.

The dread has good weapon choices but those legs and chassis... bah.

Also, is the big cannon included with Killa Kans a Grotzooka or Skorcha? The description mentions only 1 Shoota, 1 Rokkit and 1 Skorcha...

On the box? Definitely a Grotzooka! Skorcha looks totally different, and can be seen on the red wunz.

Those Kans and Deff Dread make me want to do a Kan Wall Ork army.

The flash git is awesome, I'm not sure if I like or hate the dread and kanz. The imperial stuff looks like their older version IMO

Killkanz have BS3, so giving them Grotzookas or skorchas would be a bit of a waaste imho. Mega Blastas have ap2 and you don't have to worry about overheating.

I think there are at least 3 sets of variant armour/bling plates that can go over the recessed embossments. The sprues are facing the wrong way though, so we don't see what's on them. If need be, they can still be shaved down and covered with bling of your choice.

Yeah, I've shaved down the sarcophagi on my Dreadnoughts, but it's a hassle, you know?

Yes, I know. These are based off of the original metal Kans. I know, I know.

To make a kmb all you have to do is loot one from the dread or chop one of the rocket launchers off and add one from a unused meks kmb.
You should paint it blue when you do that though

The deff dred is good! the kans are SUPER good ,
ven dred is improvement that i'll actual buy them.

Basilisk they look identical with the previous one , with price increase.
Chimera is still similar , so not much excitement.

The sad part:
No Grotzooka or any arms that look similar , and i already have maxed out metal kans -_-

The plastic Ven been released speaks very clearly on how important SM for GW is , especially the metal one
is still relatively new compared to others ( cough chaos )

For anyone else that also thinks the new Deff Dred and Kans look identical to Gurren Lagann's Gunmen lets paint them that way!

Grotzooka appears to be there Luna. On the box piccie, the one of the left handside definitely has one, and to put a piccie of a conversion on the box would be a major cockup.

Can only spot one Rokkit Launcha on the Kanz sprue (painted models of Kanz show the three available rokkits attached to one arm), which is typical GW daftness. What's the one weapon you want to put on BS3 model?

As for the Flash Git, the more I look at him, the more I think he resembles a Nob model from the plastic set holding a big shoota. Kind of suggests that this is the way to go make your Flash Gitz.

But if im not mistaken , Killakan are one of the few or (only maybe) units that can actually field grotzooka which is a REALLY GOOD weapon.
BS 3 or 2 i would always take one!

First of all, since when was the imperium ever efficient technologically? especially when it comes to engine exhaust? A venerable dreadnought chassis is going to be hundreds, if not thousands of years old, wouldn't it make sense for it to have an outdated engine block i.e. 4 exhausts? Regardless, I think they should have gone with an exhaust system similar to the throne of judgement (ornate stovepipes) from the witch hunter range.

Second, why not just buy autocannon parts off a bit website and replace the assault cannon? simple enough enough conversion. Truth is, not many people use autocannons on dreads, they lose a lot of close combat viability in doing so, and GW simply may have overlooked it, because their feedback on marine players may have taken that into account

That venerable kit already has some of my converting buddies chattering away- feel like i should share a choice idea: cut the barrels off the lascannon and use them for the godhammer barrels on land raider sponsons (those of you who want more ornate looking weaponry on your landraiders- sounds perfect for both pre and post heresy players).

Kanz come with just one of each ranged weapon in the box. As I said, mildly disappointing, but the Deff Dredd seems to supply any missing ones, so not a total loss. Still not ideal, but better than a kick in the nuts.

So the battle mission box contains sprue with extra bits for us to convert the new released kits with?

I am not a huge fan either.

I prefer the old stompy piston legs not these "bend at the knee" legs.

Changes the aesthetic too much imho.

I see one of them has older style legs, so there is hope, but still...

Being better than a kick in the nuts is only tolerable if the party in question goes around kicking people in the nuts on a regular basis, which for all of their failings is not one of GW's company policies that I've come across.

No, that's the box being sent out to GW stores with the samples. From the look of it, appears to be Battle Missions, Deff Dredd and a Venerable Dreadnought.

Battle Missions is just an expansion book, not a boxed set.

Bitz wise, Shoota/Skorcha and Rokkits are available as upgrade parts from Direct.

The Deff Dread and Kans make me want to run through the streets shouting WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! as loud as I can until the men in white coats haul me away. The Flash Git just plain sucks, though. (Model sucks, unit in game sucks, at least there is symmetry.) I'm putting the Tyranids on hold for now. STOMP! STOMP! STOMP!

Yay now i will get my 9 kans and 2 deff dreads for my walker wall. The kans look really good as does the deff dread. Everything else is kinda meh. Not good or bad just meh. I still think i will convert the legs to look like crab legs thanks to Stump.
