Oh yes, "highly inaccurate"...you just did exactly what I said you would!

Are you intentionally trying to be funny? Because if not this is awesome.

...Naw, I was really embarrassed - stammered a bit and closed the case really quickly. Luckily, the owner knew me well (I've been going there for years) - he just asked me to make sure I didn't bring it back again and I quickly agreed.

Sid you described him spot on. That is his MO in almost every thread. You should have read some of his stuff on the constitution.

On Dakka he was Eldanar. In our area, he was Lee. R.I.P., Lee Guthrie.

I got mine today too

And so, due to rising costs of maintaining the Golden Throne, the Emperor's finest accountants spoke to the Demigurg. A deal was forged in blood and extensive paperwork for a sub-prime mortgage with a 5/1 ARM on the Imperial Palace. And lo, in the following years the housing market did tumble and the rate skyrocketed leaving the Emperor's coffers bare. A dark time has begun for the Imperium, the tithes can not keep up with the balloon payments and the Imperial Palace and its contents, including the Golden Throne, have fallen into foreclosure. With an impending auction on the horizon mankind holds its breath as it waits to see who will gain possession of the corpse-god and thus, the fate of humanity......

I recently upgraded from Sabol to BattleFoam and couldn't be happier with it. BattleFoam gives me much better figure density (figures per cubic inch) and lets me select or design trays that fit my army.

The important thing to realize is that every army has its own needs and presents its own challenges. Sabol, GW and DIY solutions may be entirely suitable for some armies, and it may be hard to justify the added cost of BattleFoam in these cases.

But often an army will have a significant amount of hard-to-accommodate models, and this is where the BattleFoam approach really shines. With custom trays and army-specific predesigned trays, BattleFoam gives you ideal protection with high figure density.

With so much variability between armies and personal collections, I don't think it's fair or useful to make blanket absolutist statements. Everybody has their own parameters for space-efficiency, cost-efficiency, ease of transport, level of protection and effort investment.

So much of the bickering on this topic seems to be due to a failure to recognize that different people and different armies can have vastly different requirements and parameters. No one solution is going to be ideal for everyone.

Given the apparent success of their product, it seems that they are filling a niche of the market that was largely unserved by existing solutions.

The farthest I will go is to say that I think BattleFoam can provide an excellent solution for most, if not all, armies. It will usually be the winner on space-efficiency, ease of transport and level of protection with a low level of effort. The trade-off is cost.

For some people and some armies, the advantages are worth the cost. It certainly is for me.

Last Man has it down.

People are going to do things differently. Some people just don't want to fork out $224 on a BF bag when you're already forking out $300+ on an army/supplies.

Don't get me wrong, BF seems to be a fantastic product (And pretty much is, but without any personal experience I can't say) and I would certainly be interested in the custom trays.

However, the problem seems to be all the elitism that comes with BF's products (Not that BF itself is elitist at all) I mean, I understand that you certainly have a fine product on your hands, but many BF users in this thread seems to be scoffing down their noses at all of us who aren't willing to buy BF bags. I mean, yes, the Sabol transport cannot carry as much, but it's cheaper, and I think I know exactly what I'm getting, which is a fine, good quality army case. And maybe that's all I want, really. A case that gets the job done well for a price I'm willing to pay.

And before anyone even insinuates anything; I like BF's products, but sometimes, I just want something that works well and is around $50-60 USD. Had I the money, I'd pick some BF products, but sadly I don't.

@Zack: What do you expect? You opened the can of worms, it's not our fault. This is an honest discussion, it just happens that some people like to discuss things in less than, well, "friendly" ways. Besides, leave that to the mods to deal with.

The dakkadakka SKS abbreviation makes this sentence hilarious. Those are some seriously tricked out Cygnar, I don't think I'd let you back to my FLGS if you showed up with those again!

Anyhoo, after buying a couple of the GW hard cases (I felt like a fool after getting the $100 one), all of my army transport needs have been met with plastic totes with lockable lids, filled with high density foam from a local fabric store. Cheap, sturdy, and I can make all the foam trays I ever need. I've got a buddy that bought a Battlefoam case and it is nice, but I just can't justify it for myself. I respect the product, but it's not for me.

I use SKB Mil-spec cases that I used to get at cost through an old job. I'd say if you were buying them at retail though, dollar for dollar (or whatever your chosen currancy) You are probably better off with the Battlefoam stuff. Still...it's nice to know that if on the way to my FLGS, I happen to drive off a bridge into the river and die a horrible death, my minis will safely float on down the current in their airtight case

I am not scoffing at anybody, but when you think about it, when you have big armies, BF is actually m ore cost-effective.

Oh, and yeah, it's my thread. lol, I feel obligated to give some "stay on topic"s and "shut the f- up"s as they are needed.

Um all of them who target niche markets and have a brain in their heads.

The forums and trade shows are what keep your companies targeting a specific market alive, and maybe its just the internet and the lack of non-verbal cues, but that statement comes across like you think your doing Us a favor, when its really the other way around. You wouldn't be posting if you didn't see a RoI on your time.

Wow, R3con, what a dick thing to say. I don't see the owners of Sabol here pitching their goods and answering our questions and taking our feedback. Are they not in a niche market as well? Maybe they don't have a brain in their heads.

I, for one, love the fact that Romeo takes the time to come to Dakka and interact with us. Even when it means he has to deal with trolls such as yourself.
