Acceptable for the table? Not really.

Actually, It's perfectly acceptable for a tabletop. It's just not acceptable -to you-. Problem being that you're looking too far into it, or you're just tossing out any sort of half-arsed weak defense of your opinion without any sort of aim besides sounding intentionallly obtuse.

You start by acting like you'd actually care what little Johnny's parents would say about the booby-demon, when really you make it obvious that you just want to act like you're morally superior to everyone else. You're on a wargaming forum. The moral superiority of -anyone- on here is akin to a piece of half-eaten toast.

Then, you're assuming anyone that uses Sersi's products in a public game is the stereotypical sexually challenged mouth-breather. All this does is reinforce the idea that you're acting intentionally ignorant.

Your "Job Interview" example is little more than yet another poorly thought out defense with meagre, if any, relevance to your stance. If you can't mount a proper defense of your attitude toward Sersi's hard work, then I suggest you just stop trying altogether, and spare yourself further humiliation.

If you're worried about social stigma when you're playing this hobby, you should maybe drop it altogether. That or stop caring about what other people think about your choice in hobbies. This is a world of some 6 Billion people. Between today and tomorrow, at least 1/4 of the population is going to do something infinately dumber than plopping down a big-boobed Daemon Prince on a gaming table. You call others insecure, but blatantly display your own issues with the same. Please, stop trying to justify your stance. You're embarrassing yourself. I fail to see how using this mini makes you seem either A) dysfunctional or B) rebellious. Your attempts are about as weak as carrot-top's jokes.

Really mate. You're just digging the hole deeper and deeper. Because unless you're also going to condemn the Statue of David (Which is nude and also publicly displayed) or any of the numerous paintings of the naked human form (again, publicly visible in any museum), then you're just holding this to a double-standard, which is practically killing you here. My advice would be that you take solace in the knowledge you've made your thoughts known, and just leave it at that.

So it is ok to play a game about rapeing people at home but to bring an awesome painted and sculpted mini to a gaming store (that will sell almost identical mini's) is a social faux pas?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Actually perhaps we should take the previous approaches to hiding nudity and paint/GS little fig leaves over everyones naughty bits.

I believe Ostrakon has just implied that a plastic model with boobs that follows all of its background and everything, is more fethed up than Rapelay.

My mind may have imploded.

...BAHAHAHA!!

Closet rapists are more acceptable than someone using a miniature with breasts? Oh man that's rich.

You're comparing Michaelangelo's David to Sersi's mini? I'm not saying that Sersi's mini isn't high-quality, but there isn't really a comparison to be made there.

Once again, I don't have a problem with nudity. I have a problem with the kind of people who think it's cool to plop this sucker down on a public table. There is no need to bring this to an LGS for a casual game against strangers or acquaintances. Tourneys with a painting component or outright painting contests where you really need a Slaaneshi daemon prince, sure. But the sheer excess of this lobster-clawed monstrosity is completely inappropriate to field outside of that setting unless you worship the Prince of Excess himself.

It's about respect. Going on about how you have a right to field this kind of crap just shows the stupid entitlement complex you see all the time with 40k players. The vast majority of players are going to be put off by the sheer excess of the model.

So it is ok to play a game about rapeing people at home but to bring an awesome painted and sculpted mini to a gaming store (that will sell almost identical mini's) is a social faux pas?

Well, yeah. Something can't really be a social faux pas if you do it exclusively privately.

And for all its crazy rape-fantasy crap, Japan has a way lower rape per capita than many other countries, America included. If virtual rape is keeping some guys from wanting to fulfill any sort of physical desire thereof, I really can't bring myself to complain about it.

So, 2 pages of Off Topic because someone objects to breasts on models, then I suggest he doesn't fething buy it...

Enough, get back on topic and stop dragging this man's work down.

Have your thread about tits on models in the OT. Go make one, now, and stop being so bloody rude to the OP and his work.

Presumably Ostrakon would also refuse to play a game of Ancients against an Indian army containing a Maiden Guard unit, or an Egyptian army with camp followers in its base element.

This thread has gone past its sell-by date.

I wish the OP luck with his models.

Locking thread.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.
