If its half as good as gears (the shooting style looks very similar) I will probably get it. Man with portal 2, GoW 3 and this coming out, Imma be a poor man

Add in L.A Noire, Brink, Skyrim, Battlefield 3 and Mass Effect 3 and you'll almost be as poor as me!!

I think the shooting is only similar because both are third person shooters, or in Space Marine's case, third person action with a shooting element. Considering so much of Gears is based around shooting from cover instead of running and chopping, the shooting styles are only superficially similar. Gotta say though, I agree that this looks like a good year for video games.

Like even how it looks, the bullets traveling down range looks like gears. It has a very similar aesthetic.

When i first heard about this, and becasue i think that Fire Warrior was actually a good game, I actually jumped up and ran around my house.

All you have to do is win the lottery. Sounds easy right? Haha.

I think the co-op option in it would likely be the only thing that'd persuade me to buy it personally.

This, Mass Effect 3, and Skyrim are why 2011 is awesome. This game alone has me plotting how to take my xbox 360 on deployment with me in August lol.

Considering people are actually excited after seeing gaemplay, I'd figure it won't be! I don't recall anyone being especially excited after seeing Fire Warrior's gameplay before release. I did think the first level was pretty cool though.

It's Relic/THQ, with input from Vigil Games doing this.

They've come a long way from the days of Fire Warrior, and I don't think I've played a dud from them lately.

To give you a good idea as to how the combat system will likely work, check out Darksiders.

It'll be more a mix between Gears and Darksiders, which should be good.

I can't wait for this. Really hoping for 4 player co-op as the screens thus far have shown a four man combat squad. Although, I have been let down before (looking at you Republic Commando). Can't believe I'm getting this and Deus Ex in the same month

I must confess, I've really been looking forward to this game coming out for a sweet power armored avatar outfit!

I am with you man. Graphics are block and look like they have gone back in time when you compare other recent shooters like SOCOM4 and Black Ops and Gears of War. Are we supposed to believe that one marine is taking on the ork race? Don't get me wrong I am a huge fan of this but can't say I am that impressed with game play, story or graphics.

How do the graphics look bad? Black Ops doesn't look incredible, and Gears has a lot of texture pop-in problems. I'd say it looks just as good as either of those games, while maintaining a faster framerate with a LOT more going on at once. Black Ops has, at most, a dozen guys around at a time? Gears has about the same numbers. Space Marine has dozens of Orks, if not hundreds. If it looks 90% as pretty as other games while all those Orks are running around, I can't find reason to complain.

Also, you're a Marine captain. It's still kind of stretching what kind of damage you can do, but it works better for video game purposes than Fire Warrior where you're just, well, a Fire Warrior. Story we don't know too much of (but can't be as ham-fisted as Black Ops') and we can't say much about gameplay aside from "it looks cool/doesn't look cool" since nobody's played it yet.

It's alpha footage. Cut it some slack.

Slack has been cut, the game will be the best thing ever I cant wait to play it.

I'll wait to see what other people think of it before buying...
