Well after working for a bit this morning, I decided to diverge from the plague path of Nurgle and work on something a bit less green.
I also have a few of the Nurgle characters nearly finished, so perhaps I will post pictures of them later today.

Naturally, I cant just show you everything, so I've got a few sneak peaks of what did.
Terrible pictures aside, you get the idea...

Well, I managed to not update this for an exaggerated amount of time again. I suppose in my own defense, I've had a lot of reconstruction going on with my house and have had my hobby area rather dismembered for quite some time. I have, however, managed to get some work done on some characters and even a hellcannon. So I suppose I could start leaking pictures of those things.
I also got a bit into a story I was writing during some off time. It has to deal with a conflict between "The Symphony of Blissful Cessation" and "The Breath of Horrid Repose" My Slaanesh and Nurgle armies respectively. Perhaps I will piece of some conflict between my Khorne and Tzeentch armies when I get around to working on them. But for now, here is the WIP Standard bearer and the story.

*I apologize for the lack of photo box and thus, poor pictures. It's buried with the rest of my hobby stuff though.

Story- Symphony of Blissful Cessation vs Breath of Horrid Repose
Spoiler:
Paradrian awoke to the screams of terror from far below the palace. A sigh of displeasure escaped his lips as he thrust himself up, pushing his many consorts off his bare form. His eyes a sleepy flicker, and his movement an intoxicated waltz, he worked his way to the windowed side of the room, and onto the balcony overlooking the city below. Not caring to cover himself, he stretched out over the rails, peering down at the unwinding mayhem. His jaw hung low in a languid posture, and he rubbed his eyes as they adjusted to the morning's radiant light.
The screams grew in volume and size, echoing farther until it smothered Paradrian's drunken features. He reeled back, holding his head as the aching of the loud noise set in. Without thought, he returned to the room, quickly reconciling his senses through a glass of wine. The indulgence occupied him, unintentionally diverting his attention from the sound below as he slunk into a luxurious purple cushioned chair. Slowly, he delved back into slumber, reawakened seconds later by the thundering sound of bells below. Unnerving headaches pounded in his head again, and he staggered out of his chair and onto the balcony once again.
Below, the mayhem had increased tenfold in the few short minutes that he had left its view, and now the entire city was sprawled out in disorder. Loud banging erupted from behind, and he clenched his teeth and the consistently renewed headache. Turning, he stomped towards his quarter doors with all the merits of rage, intoxication, and pain in mind. The knocking stopped briefly and Paradrian swung the grand oak door open.
A warrior fitted in purple metal that was heavily decorated in gold stood before him. A look of confusion and surprise trickled across his face as he looked at the naked figure who had opened the door before he regained his posture.
"What... is the problem?" Paradrian sneered as he brushed his long golden hair from his face.
"N-Nurgle, prince... Th-they come to us with weapons unsheathed. They border our lands and will be here before nightfall." Rage enveloped Paradrian at the mention of pestilence sunk in, diminishing the remaining feelings of the previous night's wine. His face distorted and his hands clenched, he turned from the reporting warrior and confided in the balcony's overlooking view of the city and its reigning lands.
His eyes scoured the borders of the city walls and in an instant, the pale green lines that moved slowly towards it came into view. A bellow of offense and defiance poured from his mouth as the first bombardment of plague hit the city's walls. He turned in place and reentered his sleeping quarters, the warrior still standing at his door.
"Orchestrate my legion, and send for my outfitters!" he blared at the warrior. Seconds later, a retinue of aids stumbled in, each carrying a select piece of ornately carved silver and gold armor. Fitted and armed with a weapon, Paradrian strode from the room, advancing through the corridors of the palace to meet his legion.

A low chuckle erupted from his throat, more gurgling than laughter. His eyes were like vivid amber beneath the cowl, and his teeth were rotted and yellow. Mortiferous grinned disturbingly and sniffed the open air.
"Pretty," he laughed mockingly. Around him, the ground seeped bile and ooze. The air churned in unnatural fumes and smelt of flesh that had been rotted long after death. He looked around, staring and grunting with satisfactory nods as his army continued its pursuit on the city. He slowly moved forward onto a risen mound, his ogre-sized body shuffling sluggishly and his stomach's entrails swaying morbidly from his ripped open gut.
Far ahead, packs of mangy hounds rushed forward, a small trail of deadened and malnourished earth forming behind them. As they reached the city's gates, screams of fear and alarm shot out, reaching Mortiferous' ears. His grin widened.
"Embrace death..." he divulged, planting his mighty poleaxe deep into the dirt. "And let death embrace you." As if compelled by the words, the army increased their speed; the sound of their steps quaking out, and the ground beneath their feet erupting in putrid puddles of filth. The rumbling ambience of rusted metal grew in noise, and the corroded metal wheels of numerous hellcannons thundered in noise. The sky reposed a horrid green, and the wind picked up, eagerly guiding the stench of death to the city's doors.
A putrid figure trudged up the uprising mound towards Mortiferous. Similar in appearance to the Chaos Lord, his guts hung grotesquely from his belly, and his face was covered by a metal plate, three small holes serving as its only openings. Between his shoulder blades was a large metal pole buried deep into his back. At it's tip was the deceased head of an unknown victim, and below it a banner than blistered and warped in appearance, silently bellowing the name of the Lord of Decay.
"...Mortiferous..." he approached in a low voice, honoring his leader's position. "Their bells ring out in panic." The words hung in the deathly air, as Mortiferous considered the news.
"Their screams are of panic and mayhem... Their bells foreshadow death and decay. Order the hellcannons their due, and flood their city with metal and plague." His lips formed into an abhorrent grin of rotted bone. "Before this day has met its end, the pompous boy-servant of excess will meet my breath and despair."

Paradrian's army was set out like an elegant symphony. A host of cloaked figures swarmed at its front while a wall of impenetrable purple metal stood at its back, only to be flanked by two abhorrent creatures. Numerous tentacles lined in metal strips slithered endlessly from purple carapaces. The shells were layered and spiked, holding down the chains that connected them to the alters.
On one alter, a magnificent portal stood erect on marble tile, a continuum of time and space echoing endlessly through its surface. On the other, an exquisite pool lay affixed to similar marble flooring, its contents a swirling mixture of purple and white liquids.
As Paradrian descended the stairs, the blaring of horns greeted him with graceful notes and alluring sounds. He waved his hand dejectedly to silence the song and took on the posture of a commander. His eyes washed over the assembled force and he nodded his acceptance. The warrior from earlier approached him and he now recognized the figure as his personal standard bearer.
"Everything is in order, sir. All will be in position at your word." Paradrian considered him for a moment. He was well built and strong, and his armor was more distinguished than the other warriors who were gathered. The helmet he carried in his hands ended in two white plumes rather than the one that garrisoned the rests. Surely he must have surfaced a number of impressive feats in order to gain his position, but Paradrian recalled little more than the fact that he was his standard bearer.
A simple nod served as the reply, and in an instant, the implied standard bearer was bellowing orders and the gathered force dispersed to their positions. Outside, the clash of metal could be heard from the distant city gates, and the screams of pain and agony were horribly vivid.
Paradrian listened intently as he stood alone in the main hall. The morning had unraveled quickly and he had not yet eaten. As quickly as the thought had entered his head, he raised his hand and with the slight movement of two fingers, signaled for a servant to bring him the luxuries of fine wine and pastries. He took in his fill and licked his fingers clean before departing, a look of determination sprawled across his face once more.

The walls had been met with little resistance, and within an hour, the former gate was little more than a broken heap of corroded metal. A horde of warriors in pale green armor surged into the city. The few guards that had stood in their way were turned from lively figures to wreathing corpses, and the guards that stood just within the gates were witness to the terrible plague. Fleeing in terror, their armor slowly rusted and liquefied, the melting metal infusing itself with skin in a molten amalgamation.
The barrage of putrefying upheavals erupted endlessly from the hellcannons, leaving the walls of the city distorted and rotted. Mortiferous glared eagerly at the ensuing pandemonium, the standard bearing figure once again standing beside him.
"How easy it is to fell those who falsely revel in excess," Mortiferous exclaimed, more to himself than to his standard bearer. He pulled his poleaxe from the ground, laying it across his shoulder so that the sickle hung at his back. "Let him revel in death and disease. Let his palace serve as a monument to Nurgle... a fortress of affliction to house his gifts!"
He strode forward, disembarking from the heave, his standard bearer following in his deadly wake. All around him the ground blistered further. The recesses of plague that had been left by his army swelled up, gathering both form and size. As he passed them, they grew defined and skittered from the pustules. A foot tall and nearly as fat, the Nurglings chattered indefinably, gurgling and laughing in imitation of their master.
Masses of them formed, grouping up and scurrying beyond the walls. Unaware guards were caught in their grasp, brought down like trees in the grasp of the Nurglings as they swarmed around them.
The edges of Mortiferous' lips grew into an impossibly wide grin as he entered the city and glimpsed the prince step from his palace.

Perhaps I need to throw out a few more pictures. So here is the Sorcerer that was converted from the body of the Avatar's of War Chaos Lord.

Much like the BSB, it's still a work in progress, but let me know what you think.

And once again, I apologize for the poor quality of the pictures.

Well... while I haven't had much time to paint as of late, I did manage to get a few more goodies for the Nurgle and Slaanesh armies in the form of some Forgeworld stuff!

I also snagged on of the new Dark Vengeance models and chopped off the gun because quite frankly I needed to have it for fantasy! I'm not sure which army it will be aligned to, but it's an amazing model to say the least!

And now for the FW stuff. I left the lord in the shot for the sake of scale, and obviously this beauty isn't fully built or based, but at least it's started!

And as for the Nurgle... well... let's just say it should get pretty grotesque.

I'd also like to add that I have some very very sinister plans for the upcoming Khorne army. But I'll leave those for another time.

Thanks Cutthroat! Hopefully I can get started on the painting aspects again soon, but as of current, most of my work area is still buried while we continue construction on the house.

I should be able to upload some pictures of the nearly complete Nurgle Hellcannon at some point tonight though.

Alright so while I don't necessarily have some new stuff to post (Well... let's just say that I'm keeping them secret for now), but since my Khorne army will begin very soon with the upcoming release, I wanted to show some of my older "Khorne" stuff, as well as give some insight on how much painting I actually need to get done for the force.

So first up is a Warshrine that a friend of mine made a long time ago back when we first started.

This is the lord I converted for my Troll army... but it's so engulfed in Khorne that I'm sure I'll use it for my upcoming army at some point. Although he's not technically done being painted... he's easily still one of my favorite conversions and models to date.

And then of course there's everything else... Keep in mind that this isn't truly everything, as I was more or less just trying to assess what all I had to get done for each individual army. It's definitely a fair amount of it though!

The Symphony of Blissful Cessation- Slaanesh

The Breath of Horrid Repose- Nurgle

Troll Country?

Combination of what will be a 100 Khorne Warriors, and what will be another 50 Nurgle Marauders

A random pile of 50 or so Knights, 60-80 Hounds, and a few more warriors.

Needless to say I have a lot of work to do, and as of current I'm planning out a 17,000 point Storm of Magic game against Warmonger33's Daemons where we'll be playing fully painted. Guess I better get crackin on everything!

Oh... and come Saturday or Sunday, except some WIP ForgeWorld Bloodthirster pics!

I'm definitely stoked about getting it and I've been looking around at some pictures to get ideas for a scheme of which I found a very tempting and interesting one... but it will require a test scheme Khorne Warrior first.

However, I've actually been working on my Slaanesh Warriors again, so hopefully I can finish off one of those units tonight or tomorrow and post pictures now that I've got my lightbox again!

Well today has been pretty progressive so far! I got through washing the FW Thirster and started putting it together... but as I did I realized just how unhappy I was with the weapons.
1. I wanted a unique Bloodthirster... not just the same old FW one!
2. No matter how the whips were bent or positioned, they seemed very unnatural.

After these two realizations I considered using 2 axes and completely scrapping the ax. But then it came to me that I don't have any other melee weapons of that size, and quite frankly, a proper Bloodthirster needs a whip! So I decided to simply... switch the weapons!

I wanted the whip to look like he was physically bringing it down on someone, and have the ax where the whip previously was looked a bit more natural. And of course, it's now a little more unique than it used to be!

The whips aren't glued in yet so I only took a single quick picture, but I'll have more up tonight alongside some other minis for comparison shots. I also built that second Toad Dragon I've been avoiding, so maybe I'll take some pics of that!

Well...

It has begun! The Conflagration of Forlorn Slaughter (aka my Khorne Warriors of Chaos army) is taking shape. I decided I wanted to go for white skin with deep red armor on the FW Bloodthirster, just like the one on the FW site. But then I got to thinking that I need him to fit in with the army and so I found a guide I saw a while back and went to work on converting some Warriors!

These are only the first 5. I currently have 10 done, and the Beastmen bits ordered to make another 40!

I also got my hands on 6 of the new Skullcrushers which should be making an appearance soon, so instead of them I'll throw in some WIP Nurgle Hellcannon pics!

Let me know what you think.

Well I finally picked up the Maulerfiend to use as unit filler for my Skullcrushers. On an arachnorak sized base it takes up exactly 4 spots, so I figured I'd give you all a few pictures to see it what it looks like in the unit.
I'll also point out that I wasn't fond of the tentacles, so I instead put the third arms on (much harder than expected!) which made it a bit unstable, but that's an easy fix with some basing!

Let me know what you think! Does it make a good unit filler?

A quick update... I am now at basically 50 Nurgle Warriors w/ Great Weapons, and 50 Slaanesh Warriors w/ Halberds. I simply need to order the appropriate heads for the Slaanesh, and butcher some of the Nurgle ones! I should also have my 50 Khorne Warriors built by the end of the week!!

Time for another update! Finally got around to building the bulk of the Khorne Warriors. They still need touch ups: greenstuff, bits, etc., but they're pretty much done. I also got to work on my Khorne BSB that goes in the Skullcrusher unit.

And surprisingly, I've gone to work on stripping my FW Dragon. I originally had it blue, and while that was great at the time, I simply didn't like the painting skills I had back then, and for whatever reason I wanted it to be Khorne about a year ago. Now I want it back to it's former patron: Tzeentch. While I plan to paint him blue, I'm going to be going about it much differently this time! Let's just hope I can pull it off.

(5 heads missing in the back as of when I took the picture... they're all good now though!)

(Next up is the 50 man Tzeentch block!)

Haha thanks. And if you're ever able to head down to the LA Battle Bunker I would be more than happy to get a game in with ya!

Also... as I've finally managed to pry the feet from the former base to the Dragon, I'm now contemplating flipping the dragon into an almost flying position. I'll try to conjure up some images to show you all what I mean. As is, it would be a very difficult task, but I feel that it would pay off in the end.

Quick update. I glued all of the dragon back together barring the wings. With that I can still paint all of it without much trouble and can gap fill before painting this time around. I also reworked much of the brass rod pinning in the model so it is stable once again!

At any rate, I managed to get it into a mock position for what I mentioned previously. It's quite difficult to entirely tell in the picture, but with this, the dragon has it's two feet sort of pushing against two rocks with one arm (in the front) grabbing on to another. This leaves the back arm in a forward arcing position and the two heads menacingly gazing down on whatever hopeless victims await.

All considered, this leaves a lot of possibilities! I could easily sculpt some fire from the lower head down to the ground, or any other number of things! I'll actually be obtaining some new cork board later tonight so hopefully I can get to work on constructing the rock segments and present you all with some better pictures.

Let me know what you thing of the idea though! If nothing else I'm aiming for a more dynamic and unique take on this already beautiful model!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I couldn't wait to get to work building up the rock for this bad boy to stand on, and I'm now more or less done! There are still a few areas that need touching up, and some re-"sculpting" of the rock that might take place. But overall, it's got its general form! You'll see that this make's the model even taller than it already was; now reaching 14" at its highest wing. I also feel this makes it much more dynamic and imposing as while the heads are both looking down now... even the mighty FW Bloodthirster is below it. The standard position for this model has always seemed a bit awkward to a lot of people, especially for a dragon. Hopefully this changes that.

Here's a handful of pictures to attempt and display this reposing of this model. I also decided to take a quick (but rather poor) video, as I feel it really captures the model much more fluently.
I'd appreciate any C&C you all have to offer!

That dragon pose is extremely dynamic! Is that a FW model? Did you have to heat/bend it like crazy?? I can't watch the vid atm so I'm left guessing!

And love the Maulerfiend as unit filler for blood crushers!!

Can you post a pic of the stock dragon below your reposed version? I have a feeling yours puts it to shame.

Thanks! I didn't repose any individual parts at all actually. I considered maybe trying to bend one of the heads... but in the end I loved the way it towered down on everything and simply looks down on it all.
So really, all I did was make the model stand in a way it wasn't intended to. Obviously this in itself was a difficult task simply with the distribution of weight, but I finally found all those sweet spots, so I think it worked out well.

Here was the model in its intended stock position, back before I attempted to spray over it to make it a Khorne Dragon.
The stock position seems to be a very awkward position with it looking as though weighed down by its right wing (and let me tell you... it is. The model was incredibly unbalanced) where I'm hoping I managed to make mine look a bit more menacing and fluid. Leaping over and colliding into things while roaring directly down at some infantry, etc.
The main thing that made me want to do this was the wings though. They have such an amazing span and appearance, but there position on the stock pose is simply awkward. Hopefully I did it justice!
Not to mention the base should look much better this time around! Not sure what I was thinking back then (although I think the second rendition I did back at the top of this page was fine).
