This is me all the time.

In fact I forget a lot of my IG shooting, mostly because I have so much. I now work my way from one side of the board to another, which is sometimes a little awkward, but at least I don't forget to fire the Leman Russ hanging at the back anymore.

That's how my mom does her movement, shooting, and assault phases. Starts at one side of the board and works her way across. She plays Orks though.

Orders are what I also always forget when I use my IG.

With my brand-spanking-new Grey Knights that I've played exactly one game with, I forgot to use Hammerhand until I get to my Justicar.

For my Eldar, it would have to be the Banshee Exarch powers. I don't even remember what they do half the time, and whenever I play Eldar, I always include at least one unit of Banshees.

I don't forget the rules to the game because I am constantly practicing for tournaments. So I tend to force myself to remember the rules. But I do have a hard time remembering the rules for armies I don't use. So sometimes I will forget what a certain enemy unit can do because I don't remember much about them.

And one of the most forgotten rules I have seen people do in tournaments is Independent Characters and moving through cover.

Another one I always see people forget is to check for pinning on a unit that has had it's transport "destroyed-wrecked, or destroyed-explodes.

And another one is the way Barrage weapons can only hit the top floor of a ruin.

"Khorne is a noble warrior who respects strength and bravery, who takes no joy in destroying the weak, and considers the helpless unworthy of his wrath. It is said that fate will spare any brave warrior who calls upon Khorne's name and pledges his soul to the blood god. It is also said that Khorne's daemons will hunt down and destroy any warrior who betrays his honour by killing a helpless innocent or murdering in cold blood..."

Used to always forget Combat Drugs, but I bought a set of Pain Tokens that also came with Combat Drug tokens and that's helped me remember quite a bit.

Nowadays, I always forget to make scout moves.

I don't believe that's true; I thought it struck the highest level that is beneath the centre of the blast marker, not always the highest level regardless.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Yeah, they can only hit "the highest level that is under the hole in the center of the marker."

I always forget that the range for Night Fighting is measured from hull of the vehicle, not from the guns / firepoint.

I hate to chime in for an already well-forgotten rule, but I've also got to say night fight. It didn't help that in 4th ed, everybody like playing with "beta" level, and nobody actually liked nightfight so we often ignored it on purpose. In 5th ed, it is done on purpose to balance DoW a bit, but that still doesn't stop the forgetfulness.

In like half of the games I've played with nightfight, vehicles magically get un-immobilized or have their weapons fixed, and infantry magically return from the dead as turn two rolls around and someone remembers that all that damage they did last turn shouldn't have actually happened...

... somehow these foibles never made it into my battle reports...

That deep strikers always land on the bottom floor of a ruin. Yes that ruin will stop an artillery round, but that assault marine will just barrel down through 3 stories until his feet are on solid ground. Makes a little more since for a drop pod though.

Yeah, thats what I meant but I didn't want to quote the actual rule because I thought you couldn't do that for copyright reasons...anyway I guess I could have explained it better. Re reading my origional post it does seem to say only the top floor but that isn't what I meant. I guess next time I will just be exact and not worry about it.

You can quote rules or parts of rules that pertain to the topic at hand (otherwise rule discussion would be a hell of a lot harder), but you can't copy and paste entire pages of the rulebook.

Ok, thanks. I didn't know what was legal and what wasn't.
