Yeah that is OSL indeed. Good or bad? As for drilling the barrels. I`m not shy of modifying stuff but I didn`t do it on these in fear of messing up the aligmnent of the barrel hole. If that makes sense?

In other news I got myself a second land raider which also will require a lot of work and changing of weapons because I want the flamer variant as it`s 10 points cheaper hence making it possible for me to field two LR in a 1500 pts game I also got two Land Speeders. My original plan was to only use one of these alongside the one I`ve already made but when both of the newest additions are Typhoons I have to include both!

Good times

If you aren't going to drill a barrel hole, you should paint a black dot in the middle. Having nothing to represent the hole in the gun barrel takes quite a bit out of the visual appeal (at least for me).

Sounds like you've got some great projects lined up Red... can't wait!

Good point, I`ll do it

Yeah this army is just expanding far beyond what I`ve originally planned but it`s been so enjoyable that I haven`t found it in me to stop and move on to another project

Work is killing me these days and still got two weeks of that left before I take two weeks off in the Easter

So with that said, here`s my LS Typhoons and a Land Raider Redeemer:

In true tradition with my "scavenger" theme these vehicles are no exception I think they are mostly done, maybe the odd moldline here and there but I need to get them basecoated and painted asap. Got a big game in a few weeks!

Looking good there Red. Land Raiders are on my "to do" list for this upcoming year along with some terminators.

Thanks Gits

I really like the land raider as it really embodies the elite basis I wanted with this army. However Typhoons. How are they working for you? Not tested mine yet and never played against it either.

Mostly, on my phone.

I love the resurrectionist nature of your army. It's so rare to see something done with so much salvage (well, except nurgle, for whom blobby glue is a bonus!)

Thanks graven I fell I kinda got lucky that the theme and everything just fell in place as I went along really. I'm very pleased with the strong image and identity of the army. As far as ressurection. This land raider was a nightmare to get to this stage. I had to tear the front ramp off for example and then rebuild it. Ah well, flipside of getting it for a quarter of the prize of a new one I guess

I like the appearance of your 13th wing - it breathes that de-humanized brutality of RT era space marine illustrations: not (yet) chaos, but definitely warped minds. Stylewise though, it is perfectly the Viking vibe of the Space Wolfes before they were made werewolfes. Your painting style accentuates that very strongly. Immediately I have in mind some thunderhawks coming out of nowhere, stylised dragon head jaws framing the assault ramps that spew out a nearly amorph mass of weapons, legs, roaring bearded heads, the unaware moisture farmers and scrapmetal traders freezing in shock while the raging warriors lay a trail of purposely and intentionally inflicted collateral damages as they spearhead into the cultist's temple...

I like them quite a lot. They're fragile, as is any LS... and I wouldn't recommend running them singly. Run them in sets of 2 or 3. The other thing I did that I think is working is to not give them any short range weapons... only the TMLs and heavy bolters. Things that can reach out a long way so I don't have to bring them in close where my opponents bolt guns can shoot the daylights out of them. They represent a lot of fire power... 4 ML shots and 6 HBs... that's nothing to sneeze at. And the HBs at S5 mean they have a (slight) chance of glancing AV 12... so you can fire at things like dreads or heavy flyers without feeling like you're wasting shots. They've really saved my bacon in a couple of games now.

@Hruotland: thank you good sir! You should write the fluff on this army cause you put it into better words than me

@Gits: yeah I figured a pack of two would work well, looking forward to test them out. I need more speed and maneuvrability in my army

That's exactly why I added them to mine. Kind of an afterthought but so far it's worked out pretty well.

Really cool models there mate. As a fellow Norgie I am particularly fond of the norse name references you've put in there

One question for you; what's that grey stuff you're using for modelling? I'm looking for something to replace greenstuff with, but haven't seen the grey one you're using

I like them. If you don't mind a suggestion... you might consider coming up with a different color/treatment for the treads on the LRs... it would make them stand out a lot more I think.

I like the faded red stripes on the left sides though. Nice effect. Nice work on the LST bases too.

I agree on all counts with gits. If your ls basing is grass, that to me implies mud. Light/clay-type mud drybrushed onto the treads would really make them pop.

Cheers lads

Good suggestions, I got a bit impatient and just ramped on when I finally found the motivation to do it. I agree that the threads blend to much in with the rest of the tank. I`ll get back to that at a later stage, now I just enjoy playing with a completely painted army

I'm very happy with my two Typhoons. Will probably be adding a third eventually. They put out a lot of firepower.

Ah bless my kids

Due to them wanting to paint their own golden ninjas for Ninjago (lego brand), dad (as in me) got to do some more of his own painting

Here`s my count-as Arjac Rockfist (note beard on little skull):

Note the possessed storm shield. That scheme will be used on my khorne daemons for my CD army

And my termie wolf priest:

That breaks the 3,6k barrier for this army!

Figures are looking great Red. The bearded skull is perfect... especially for an already "beardy" SW army!
