Now I want to make an orc army with these plus Mantic orcs. After I finish my human army first.

I like them as well. They look scary, which you can't say about most orcs.

I really like them, but the heads are too big. They look great, just... not quite my style.

I didn't see one. I ordered direct, and shipping wasn't bad (6 Euros). If you order is large enough (60 Euros) they'll ship for free.

Those heads... they are on hinges haha

I think I could deal with them if I assembled the jaws to be less wide open... hmmmm.....

Glad you all enjoyed the review and more importantly the miniatures. I hope to test some GW heads on them in the near future. When I have managed to source some I will post the result here.

I'm looking forward to getting these Orcs. I wonder how long the post will take from Greece to Australia?

I got mine today. They put in a resin orc hero model, as well. I'll try to paint some up this weekend.

Now showing skeletons for Mantic's Dungeon Saga!

Painting total as of 12 July 2025: 88 plus a Deva King statue

Painting total as of 12/31/2024: 107 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain and two walkers and a quad mech and five giants

They said 3 weeks. Which is about the same as Poland, so it sounds about right.

I also ordered a set of those to try out. If Josh's stuff arrived today, hopefully mine come this week, but if not, next week is still ok.

I painted up the resin hero they sent with my box of orcs. The plastics are still very much WIP, so no shots of those yet.

Continuing with their amazing Orc line, I see that Shieldwolf introduces now a chariot.
Here the news:

And some amazing pics:

The level of detail in this chariot is just astonishing and uncomparable to any similar model!

I'm very interested in any thoughts or especially pics you guys can share. These are high on my "to buy" list. I'm interested in seeing some of the halberd arm options. Some of the builds looked a little off in the official photos, and I'm wondering if it was just the fault of the person who put them together, or a small flaw with the kit.

I'm also interested in how they look with a closed mouth.

Good evening!

We would first like to thank you all for your positive comments and -although the news came before us- inform you better of what is coming. :-)
As you know -and as already stated- we don't like to interfere and let the Community express their feelings and opinions on the result(s) of our hundreds of hours of work for us to listen to. This is only our 4th(!) post at Dakkadakka after more than almost 2 years of commitment and vision.
This Policy of ours may however soon change since we feel that much smaller companies than us manage get more attention from their direct interaction with the community and our FB page just isn't enough (although the numbers pleasantly continue to grow). We monitor important wargaming forums like this one and appreciate the additional chance it permits to get closer to you -and what you have to say-.

We aim to prove our worth first. After a huge long-lasting effort, we have finally come to a point to have established a chain of production of superb concept artists, sculptors, painters and casters. Our facilities and manpower has proven more than adequate regarding packaging and distribution. Every new release is a new challenge for us, to make it better than the one before, or not produce it at all! We believe at this point we are trully producing the most brutal and detailed Orcs worldwide.

@Gallahad One of the things we are still fighting to solve is the way we present the images of our miniatures, probably we still have some way to go before reaching this goal -far from perfect- so apologies if our pics do not show you clearly the product. This is the only picture we could find of an Orc with "closed mouth version" (the one on the far right)

Aslo, we would like to apologise for the "spear" version description. As many of you have correctly pointed out, these are halberds. Our mistake, we have deleted the image and thank you for the correction.

As for the "Charging Forest" release, it is about Orcs as stated and will include the following products:

Pack of Great Wolves (x5) fitting on 50mmx25mm bases
Pack of Mountain Boars (x5) fitting on 50mmx25mm bases
Mountain Orc Boar Chariot fitting on 100mmx50mm base
Mountain Orc Great Wolf Chariot fitting on 100mmx50mm base

along with some combinations to service better our customer base.

This is a picture we haven't published before of what our Boars look like and how they will be attached to main log in the centre of the Chariot. We believed it an awesome idea. We hope you share our opinion and look forward to commenting upon its' release next month (May).

Thank you.

You can send me free minis and I'll paint and photograph them for you in the most professional way possible? Totally serious btw.

@Shieldwolf, No worries! I think the kit looks great, and you had very nicely painted and photographed examples. I will be ordering soon. There was just one elbow angle that looked a tiny bit off in the photos, but certainly no deal breaker. From everything I have seen it is a very, very impressive release for your first hard plastic kit.

Personally, I think your best plan would be to interact here on "neutral" forums (i.e. not your own) with fans as much as possible. In my opinion, it helps build brand loyalty, and most people here will generally give positive and at times helpful constructive feedback on WIP sculpts, etc.

I cannot wait to see your wolves. There are not many good wolf sculpts out there.

I'd wait in your place for the chariots to come, you will probably benefit on the P&P expenses.

We thank you for your kind comment and interest. We will follow this path to see where it leads us.
We agree with you and we appreciate the feedback and council, we would however like to note that -in our humble opinion- brand loyalty is also build when your work respects the Community. We find it funny -and at times frustrating- when companies who have failed their supporters keep on enjoying their faith. This only shows how much space there is in this market and that a more serious player should take things over. (Then again, we may be wrong. Also, no offense intended to any of our colleagues).

We'll start right here answering your question on the wolves, here's a sample from 2 of the head versions of what's coming. We believe them to meet expectations...

Thank you.

Those wolf heads look pretty cool!

I've just put an order in for some of the orcs, looking forward to being able to build up a decent sized force for kings of war now I know there will be further orc releases I can use. Just realised I should have ordered the shaman aswell, guess he'll have to wait till my next order.

Ordered direct and the postage seems pretty reasonable, I'll have to see how quick they ship out.

Are the Deceivers designed to be the Arab infantry, or are the soultan/wizards just separate character models?

The neck of those wolves appears to have a lot more volume than it should.

Agreed. My orcs are very nice, as was the special bonus, and I had excellent service from Shieldwolf as well!

The Deceivers were our very first models, we have more than 20 pages of fluff for these. They have nothing to do with the Araves race though, apart from some wars they have raged against them (but then again in our world, almost everyone has encountered everyone else at some point).:-)
We are waiting to see if our plastic experiment goes well, if so we are considering going full plastic and we want to avoid cheaper Chinese manufacturing and plastic pieces in little bags, we've been there and it's inferior quality. We aim for the best and therefore sprue manufacturing only. Also -unlike other aspiring kickstarters who have never produced anything- we know first hand how many hundreds of thousands of euros that would cost and so we keep our feet on the ground.
The plan C is to go full resin, but we allow time decide. We mean bussiness.
Here are a few pics from 2 out of 5 Araves core units.

An accurate point. They are Great Wolves and we wanted them to be just that. :-)

Appreciate the comment. Well, I see no reason why not...

Nice work on the humans. Are these designed as one piece miniatures? If not, it might be an idea to stick some alternate right arms on the sprue for the slaves, so they can be built as unarmed prisoners as well.
