Now I need to do a bit of work inside and buy a bit of paint before the next step...

Also those weapons mounts can take any imperial guard tripod mounted weapons, so if I want I can use auto or las cannons instead of heavy bolters, next will be the interior doors and wall supports...

I suddenly want to play a game in a tank manufacutorum... that sounds so freaking cool

As promised here are some more WIP. Barrel on top will be filled with water and have piping down to the shop. Interior is still in progress. I have a furnace in there for now, still gotta fill it with tools, scrap metal, and a buggy being built. Still along way to go but it is coming along. Roof is still magnetized for removal.

Kinda wondering that myself. All looking amazing. Big, but amazing.

I believe the quote is go big or go home... I think it is because terrain is such an important aspect that is far too often ignored and this give people needed impetus to get on that terrain project they have been wanting to do.

You say that I am crazy. I say that you are right!

Well to meet my vision I have to be able to fit two squads inside that thing, so its intended function (testbed for a tunnel board/usable bunker) dictated the size. Also lascannons are nasty with it - they can traverse farther then the HBs to the point of being able to all focus on a single target 10 inches away... its a little tempting to trash the HBs but they do look cooler and They are finished.

Size doesn't matter (at least, that's what I've been saying to myself all this time) but I have to admit it, big does look cool!

Barrel drilling is on the to do list, and I used a material called 'Plaster Cloth' its just gauze impregnated with plaster, they use it for making casts over broken bones and diorama scenery.

And the rock wall is cast plaster of Paris, a little heavy but this puppy won't be moved that much anyhow.

I'm re-using an unfinished terrain piece that I started for another contest but did not finish (or even get far on at all!). I've not done a huge deal as you can see, however, the plan is to turn the little platform into a lookout post and pile junk up around the base to form a "staircase". To fit in with the theme, a sewer pipe will be running out through the junk pile (which will have plenty of bits of wood and metal on it) with some sewage water - there may also be water runs down the "concrete". Around the other side will be a little sheltered area with a fire. There will be plenty of earth and dirt smeared around the place.

still keeping it coming...

so....I am still alive and still working on my entry...even if I am currently slacking in keeping you all on the up and downs of my work...
which brings me to this...after last time showing you the cooking devices, now I will show you the WIPs of the place were the big squigg BBQ will be happening...:

the grubz diner will be placed in the remaining ruin of an old building...(I have to say I got really inspired by Camkierhi ´s current project...)
and here are the first pics of how I started with the build...currently it got it´s first coat of paint as later on I probably won´t be able to get everything painted as I will produce lots of not reachable spots in the end...

the plan is to add a makeshift roof for that I already have added two of three stands to build the roof ...more to this later on...

This looks freaking amazing!! I've always wanted to scratch build terrain though I've never done it before. I don't know if I can try it for this round of competition because I am getting married in about 30 days. I will keep my eyes on this though and if inspiration should strike I will give it a go!
As a random aside... for the elements... don't earth and wood usually fall into the same category of earth? I've always seen the elements as earth, air, water, fire, and then spirit or metal or skulls or whatever.

Forgive me now! Tomorrow I may no longer feel guilty...

Great jobs all around, makes me glad I'm not taking part, worried bout the judging, though...

@EyeamRai: "Just" getting married? That's not enough for an excuse (Cheers to that, BTW!)

As for the elements, there are several views on that across time and different cultures. The classical Greek elements are indeed Earth, Water, Air and Fire (Aristotle added aether as the fifth, quintessential, element, mistaking it for the true one, rivets!)

Oriental thinking show different takes on the topic, in Chinese thinking, the (loosely interpreted) elements of the Wu Xing are Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood.

Me, I just liked the idea of using the basic elements as a common groundwork for different and original interpretations of the subject.

Closing into half-time now people, keep them coming!

Cheers.

My fiancé and I were talking about this challenge at breakfast this morning and we came up with a pretty nifty idea. I'm going to give it a go. I'm pretty sure my idea is WAY beyond my ability since I've never scratch built anything before but I'm looking forward to trying!

Forgive me now! Tomorrow I may no longer feel guilty...
