OK, the consensus is to paint the Avenger in Imperial Desert pattern colours, picked up my Dark Yellow base.

Since I did the initial black primer and then a dark red I was wondering if anyone had a good idea on removing the red in four areas easily? Then once dry and clean I would just extend the black primer upper works. Then applying my Dark Yellow base on top of a level black primer. I would rather not dunk the who model in Simple Green...it is too large.

As part of my promise to always post images with every PLOG post, here are the three Rhinos I trade with MacPhail (recommended trader) for. Striped them down and removed the superglue to break them down to the constraint parts. MacPhail had built them with some unique chassis extensions to keep them from looking too small beside his Mark II Rhinos and all I am doing is getting them back to the basic Rhino model as that is how the rest of my Sisters tanks are built.

Prepare for more cheap Rhinos or Immolators to purge the enemies of the Imperium.

The long painting war continues...

CB

PS: That means I have found the three Mark I Rhinos I was looking for. Prepare for Immolator spam.

I'm quoting myself and there was only silence and tumble weeds rolling through...

Anyone?

Buhler?

Did flock and paint the flying base for the Avenger in the meantime. Need to post some sort of image.

Not sure I completely understand the questions but instead of cleaning the dark red off wouldn't it be possible to just mask around where you want it and re-prime in black? Depending on the areas you do this to you may not have much detail loss to worry about.

That might work, I just hate extra layers of paint.

To prove that this PLOG is not dead, a WIP of my Mistress of the Repentia conversion WIP:

(Updated and added some other angles)

More to come as I have almost finished the infantry and have only some more Mark I Immolators to go.

Thanks Inevitable_Faith,

It is a Heavy Bolter Body with some replaced arms and weapons.

And now for some progress, not of the Avenger (sadly) but of some of the remaining Sisters I still have to paint.

Nice details on the robes... how many layers? Nothing like 4x melta Doms to melt someone's shiny toy.

Thanks Anpu-adom and Warboss_Waaazag.

Thank you MacPhail, there are four layers on the robes since I used black as the primer...a ochre base, then a dark red, bright red and then an orange final highlight.

Four more Heavy Flamers completed:

Those heavy flamer sisters are looking great and the three superiors too. That particular superior model is one of my favourites.

Thanks guys.

Two more Sisters with Melta Guns, so now 12 are ready to melt heretics.

Photo of these two are pretty poor...at some point I should photograph all 12 as units seem to show up better.

Nice work. I only have 8 melta sisters right now... and they aren't even primed yet.
It truly warms my heart seeing the progress you are making on your Sisters. Keep it up!

Thought I would take some better pictures of the last few completions:

Since these were taken I have gone back and fixed the nose of the Sister Superior (Centre Right when looking at them...you can see the one I mean).

Now the second and third Mark I Immolators (I am calling these the Second Flight as there are one or two changes from my first Mark I Immolator):

Nice work on the Immolators. The mk I version does have a certain amount of class. (But to be honest I'm a convert to the newer plastic kit). Top work as ever!

Thanks EDC.

Now the forth, fifth and sixth Mark I Immolators (I am calling these the Third Flight as there are one or two changes from the previous three Mark I Immolators - I acquired Sister's Icons to add here and there, as well as plastic purity seals):

Only three infantry models and one aircraft to go.

First-rate work and excellent skill demonstrated here, Captain Brown. It's nice to see somebody give the Sisters the love they deserve. And I'm really digging those Mk I Rhinos you're using. It takes me back to the good ol' days when 40k was made of 80's and AWESOME.
