Thanks Inevitable_Faith,

Here are some more of the AoBR mono-pose Orks (with slight conversion work to make them look individualistic).

On the blue background:

I think the colours are a bit of an homage to the original Rogue Trader Orks, before they went into the Red Period.

That blue background really shows off how well you've done their skin. Great job.

Great Stuff CB. I much prefer the blue background, kinda reminds me of White Dwarf in the early 90's...

The boyz are looking good. How many will it be when the Waagh is at full strength?

Thanks Inevitable_Faith, I have started trying to take photos with both backgrounds, but I still have a few with only the white.

Thanks Rinkydink,

They do look a little like the photos of White Dwarf from the 90's.

As to the size of the Waaagh, I had 100 painted Orks and Grots at the start of this refresh and have painted 85 more...however 14 GorkaMorka Orks have been retired and given to our other Ork player so the final count should be 171 painted figures and 16 vehicles and bikes.

Some more of the AoBR Orks painted to replace GorkaMorka figures:

Thanks Camkierhi and evildrcheese,

Some more odds and ends I have completed or modified/repainted, all are converted. A couple of Mechs and a converted Rokkit armed Ork.

The last two Grots and a Minder to bring that unit up to 33 models. The Minder was missing his whip arm, so it was replaced with a plastic Axe and hand. Grots are the old mono-pose ones.

So I guess all that is left is an army shot.

Thank you amazingturtles and now that is going to happen.

Thank you for the kind words Cleatus and stonned_astartes,

And now the army all together (well I ended up finding an extra Nobz in my skirmish pack after the photo), had to do white and the background as I had no blue sheets available.

I have some more close-ups coming so you can see every unit in detail, however a summary is two Ork Warlords (one in Mega-Armor), one Mad Doc, one Nobz Mob of 10, one Nobz Mob of 3 in Mega-Armor with a Trukk, one Mob of 10 Tank Bustas with a Trukk and 2 Bomb Squigs, two Trukk Mobz of 12 with a Big Shoota and Trukk each, one Boyz Mobz of 30 with Slugga and Choppa and three Big-Shootas, one Boyz Mobz of 30 with Shoota and three Big-Shootas, one Gretchin Mobz of 30 and 3 Minders, one Storm Boyz Mobz of 10, one Bike Mobz of 4, one Deffkopta Mobz of 3, three Traks with twin-linked rokkits, one Loota Mobz of 15, and two Battlewagons. Every Mobz that can, has a Nobz leading it.

I think that is all of it.

The long painting war continues, but for my Orks...it is essentially over as they are all painted and the extra bodies given to a friend.

Cheers,

CB

A Squeaky Waaagh!!

So for the images that Photobucket has blocked (they were all WIP), should I just remove them or actually try to match them up with Imgur ones?

OK, as I basically have not had much time to do painting, as when I do have some free time with friends I want to have some games I have been using the army.

Here are some shots of my Orks taking on a Space Marine force of Imperial Fists. 125 Force Points a side.

Corner deployments with one objective in each deployment zone and four more spread across no man's land.

You can probably guess my plan already. With one objective in each player's deployment zone I aimed to grab 3 more and control them with my superior numbers, perhaps contesting the forth. At the same time blunting the Marine spearhead aimed at the centre of my force.

Sometimes it is hard to fit all the Boyz in a single deployment zone.

With the deployment of the Marines, I almost thought they might be trying a refused flank, but then they dropped in some heavy hitters in their centre, obviously to counter my Battle Wagon.

My plans are already starting to unravel as the Space Marine Dreadnought survived a mass of fire and my Battle Wagon's Rolla.

View my Lootas had to provide suppressing fire...which did not suppress anything.

More to come.

Oh man, I'm painting up orks slowly. But they do look so good en masse.

Also, really jealous of the old FW battlewagon, quite a rare thing to see these days. Looks so brutal as well.

Hope they did you proud.

Thank you Rinkydink,

Unfortunately no plan survives contact with the enemy.

So in the next three photos you can see I had taken four objectives and the Space Marines still only had the one in their deployment zone.

Things were looking pretty good, despite the Marine's armour saving them from higher casualties.

Then there is a gap in the battle photos...mainly because I forgot to take any for a full turn cycle. But in summary the Dreadnought turned my Battle Wagon into scrap. The Predator blasted my Trukk into little pieces and killed of some of the Boyz. General Space Marine fire was whittling down my Mobz except for the Gretchin who seemed to be completely ignored.

Return fire and charges destroyed the Dreadnought, Terminators and reduced several Marine squads to lone survivors (who would not die). The Space Marine Assault Squad and Chaplin made short work of my Lottas and grabbed that objective in my Deployment Zone. But I still held three objectives, contested another and the Marines only controlled two.

On came my Traks with their double rokkits with revenge on their minds and a Predator in their sights.

The Space Marine Assault Squad left the Chaplin behind and jumped to get into the fray in the center and help the handful of still surviving Marines.

I prepared my Stormboyz to charge next turn while still holding an objective.

It strung them out a little, but the objective was critical to have. I figured the surviving Trukk Boyz would get me another objective in the following turn and make up for abandoning this one when the Stormboyz charged.

More to come.

Cheers,

CB
