In so far the other dwarves are alleigance order, the KO being the first ones to get their own set.

All dwarfs/Duardin are in Order(minus chaos dwarfs/legion of Azhag). There's Dispossessed who are regular dwarfs within Azyrheim and Sigmar's lands, Fyreslayers who are mercenaries from the fire realm and the Kharadron Overlords are pirates from thec realm of metal.

Edit: oh yeah, allegiance-wise for matched play the Overlords will get a option to use their own.

So my grand alliance destruction will be winter themed if it's ever expanded into other races. I'm not sure if I also want the Overlords in such a paint scheme or not.

Oh I don't know, a arctic expedition with frost covered hulls and fur coating on the crew would look pretty cool.

Says right there on the pic "Order Battletome".

Pirates of Order...I'm ok with that.

Khorne are getting a new battletome next month too...I'm going to be broke at this rate!

Careful now, Exiles are Order pirates (smugglers/ cultists) too and you'd not want to turn your back on them.

No telling how closely these lads play to their guidelines.

Guidelines? feth'em is their motto. But I also like the potential conflict that can spawn between them. Elven/Dwarven rivalry spawned by another cause rather than an ancient grudge.

Is it Apiril yet?

I know you shouldn't wish your life away but I just want the next two weeks to hurry up.

"Exiles" is the name for Dark Elves as a whole now.

The "pirates" are specifically the Scourge Privateers and the "cultists" are the Daughters of Khaine.

Exiles was just a placeholder until the grand alliance book. Aelves are aelves; the current subdivisions are by culture/career choice rather than complete divisions. A privateer aelf is the same as a skycutter aelf is the same as a wanderer aelf, they just chose or were born into different pieces of society.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

Still doesn't change that "Scourge Privateers" are the piratical Dark Elf descendants.

Haha, okay, I should have been more specific. I was just trying to say that "Order" doesn't mean they're completely nice guys.

Eh, that's a point but I still use the term because it helps differentiate them from the other more honorable aelves and is a good way to keep them seperate from the future Shadowkin.

It's better to follow the rumour threads here on Dakka than to go to BoLS or Faeit. You'll be spared a lot of potential bs and won't be late for the party as new stuff usually pops here a day earlier

Indeed, as soon as I followed that link my phone got a phony virus alert. BolS is not a safe place to tread these days.

My apologies. I just googled Kharadron Overlords and that came up and I just lost it.

EDIT: I just remembered the last time I was this excited for a GW release. It was getting the Mordhiem box for Christmas 1999. That's how significant these guys are.

'Murica! (again)

I'm growing into these more and more. Don't know about mixing with my Fyreslayers. My dispossessed are just sitting there meh with no fluff, so maybe I'll mix them with these. Who am I kidding though, my collection will quickly become enough for stand-alone. I like playing mono-armies. Maybe we'll see these at Adepticon this week...

I'd say that's very likely...

For his seminars at the AdeptiCon event next week, Duncan will be painting the new Kharadron Overlords.

And what's more, if you're one of the lucky ones joining us for them, you'll have a chance to paint one too!

We'll let you know how he gets on, and share some photos next week.

Find out more about the Kharadron Overlords here: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/03/15/a-new-race-descends-on-the-mortal-realms/
