there's slight variation. Kopach had hellhounds, gonyo had sentinals and a couple crusader units.

Ultimately though, the core list was the same, as it was for most of the top finishers

Thank you MVBRANDT and your team. A very high bar has been set. Incredible venue. Your Necromunda coordinator plays out of my club and a former 30k singles champ as well. Ive had some great games with Mike Walsh in the past so I get it. Respect...

Most of the previous commentary about big tournaments has been about controversies surrounding possible cheating. There hasn't actually been a huge amount of commentary from other tournaments about general tournament stuff outside of that. I suppose that's a good thing in this case - no controversies on the playing side and what looks to be a well-run tournament (unlike a certain London-based tournament) so no news is good news.

Having said that, if we're seeing one list dominate so much it really isn't healthy for the game at all. Looks like there's still lots of work to do getting the balance of 40k right. I still think the power of soup is the biggest problem that needs to be solved, but there are others too.

he sure is a good player but Nanavati and Brandon grant made two critical mistakes so he won, that list is too dependent by 1st turn and good dice, imho.

Castellans with limitless CP certainly did impact the meta. And yeah the GT was as close to perfect as we could get. No major controversy or drama that we could see, extremely good play, and it ran both smoothly and perfectly on time.

Most of the previous commentary about big tournaments has been about controversies surrounding possible cheating.

The tourneys have been great in this regard.

It was painful seeing a few of these past tourneys won by intentional slow playing, almost to the point of embarrassingly being justified...

Loving the trend now, good play and quality players.

Nanavati let Magnus kill Y'vraine and Brandon let his scout being wrapped by tzaangors so they cant fall back from Mortarion, the primarch got safe in CaC and next turn charged Castellan killing it

Man that is looks like some boring lists to play against when the majority is the same list with a few changes. Hoping Chapter Approved provides the necessary shake up!

That's weird. I thought Nanavati brought Yncarne instead of Yvraine. Does that suck letting a <10 HP character get killed by a model with a humongous base.

Friend of mine went in with 5-ish Russes, 2 Manticores, a Hellhound, a smattering of infantry and a naked Shadowsword. I think he won a few games.

Due to his lack of shooting, Nick's matchup against Primarchs is awful; it wasn't necessarily a mistake, he just attempted an incredibly risky play to try to put himself in a better position in a bad matchup, and it failed.

He was on track to lose just as badly if he'd done nothing, so he took a shot. And it was the Yncarne, not Yvraine.

I can tell ya, he is first class person and player, through and through. He is not the type to do, or forgot he could not do something. His play was perfection against me, and that's 4 days in, after 10+ Games.

the secret I think is that there will never ever ever be perfect balance. But that the balance will shift regularly, to the tune of every 6 months.

of all the armies in the game, custodes are the one where a handful of dudes would show up to wreck gak randomly really.

Wow. Four of the top ten armies are practically the same. I guess this isn't really a new concept tho.

Time to dial back the CP's to 3 and 9 again for the Battalion and Brigade.

I completely agree that the Adeptus Custodes sending a squad to help out would totally wreck shop. What's ludicrous is that they'd send 3 of their commanders, unsupported.
