The Hot & Dangerous that was previous KS. But six models you can ad now. They are only metal and 50$. They will be have special cards and rules. But probably I will use them as veteran or officer grunts to.
Still on the fence, but leaning towards plastic all-in...
Col Hammer wrote: Few hours left and I finally gave in and pledged for plastic all in and the metal hotties (since they have rules in the game). The subject of the game is interesting and a welcome change from the usual fantasy games.
Plastic all in PLUS metal add-ons?
Meaning you'll get duplicates?
Do you not fully 'trust' the plastic?
I meant plastic all in + the 6 hot and dangerous metal miniatures. Because they are not available in plastic. I dislike metal miniatures nowadays, but I figure I would be bothered to have the hotties cards and equipment, but no hottie minis... So I try to cope with the metal minis.
I especially want the female musketeer and the female scot figures.
Too bad they decided to include the samurai figure which is wholly unsuitable figure for the games background. I think the female pirate would have been far better choise. She is wearing clothes that seem suitable for the period. The fully armoured samurai seems odder choise...
They said the hottie metal figures are a bit taller than AD1666 figures. I hope that won't be too noticeable that they are different scale (since they are from another line of figures).
But at least I will have the female musketeer to join the 4 musketeers. Tall girl or not... Or maybe she will join Richelieu instead? I guess it will depend on her alignment.
I have the results of the last chamber: You are a horrible person. That's what it says: A horrible person... We weren't even testing for that.

How? Japan at that time had active contact with Europe, do you honestly think a girl from another continent is less plausible than vampires, golems, and werewolves?

This is around the time that Japan started its isolationist policies and stopped trade with Europe. So while possible (and certainly possible in a fantasy game) i think the pirate would have fit better as well.

Yes, I actually think the female samurai in europe is less plausible than vampires, werewolves and golems. The mosters come from local folklore, so they are from europe. The samurai is really far from home.
That said, I will totally use that samurai in the game (just would have preferred the pirate).

While that is true, Hasekura Tsunenaga's diplomatic mission to Spain and the Vatican ended in 1620 (and given the setting has differences with historical sources, it has wiggle room). Even today we have people in southern Spain with the "JapĆ³n" surnames, descended from japanese delegates that settled here (a total of six didn't return, IIRC, but still ).

Funnily enough, Holland is right next to Habsburg Netherlands, aka country in which this game is set. So, this is by no means a stretch, and that is without considering the fact that in 1600s Japan invaded Ryukyu islands with significant military force, and, as Ryukyu was a vassal of China (and officially remained so till 1800s) the place served as a bridge between Japan and the rest of Asia, at least unofficially.

A) female samurai is more plausible than half of the non-supernatural stuff in the game already, B) if something that really happened in real history is less plausible to you than fairy tales, well...
Er... you do realize that Dejima was significant specifically because it was "the single place of direct trade and exchange between Japan and the outside world during the Edo period", don't you. From 1633 until 1853 and Perry.

Yep, Ryukyu was invaded by Japan in 1609, and was from then on a vassal state of both China and Japan. It was done before the start of the Sakoku period, though, but it is true that it was the "gate" of Japan with the rest of asian in many respects.

So there was a female samurai in europe around 16XX then? I stand corrected.

This was a great Kickstarter experience. I really enjoyed the update email every morning, and while I'm gutted that we didn't get the cockatrix, I'm pretty happy with all the stuff that comes in the core box.

Again, sure its possible, Likely? More likely than the pirate who was not included?... Well in a game of "what if?" why not. Personally I like the Spanish connection mentioned better even if it is 20 - 40 years before the date of the game. But as mentioned other dates have been muddled, so not a big issue.
Not sure why the pirate was left out. The Pirate mini's name is Jackie, and seems to be based on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacquotte_Delahaye (though Wargamer did not confirm. This was supposedly a real life female pirate during the time of the game.
I like the cockatrice. Will get it if its in plastic. Hope the whole Spanish faction becomes available in the pledge manager, not just the two locked heroes.

I don't see why it wouldn't be plastic when it was planned as a stretch goal (which we didn't reach). Every other SG can be plastic or metal. The cocatrice/basilisk will propably be small though. Man sized.
I think they were talking Spanish faction, so I expect 2 more heroes and 3 commoners. Or we might actually get 4 heroes as most of the other factions have 6 heroes total and 3 commoners.
We'll see when the PM comes.
So, how will the pin ups be divided among the factions?
Samurai = Spanish faction
Musketeer = French faction
Two winged lancers = Polish faction
Lute player = Cossak faction?
Scottish warrior = Cossak faction (since one of their heroes is Scottish, I think)

I was at work when this one ended, and missed the cutoff time!
I think every KS I've taken part recently allowed late pledges. But this is a Polish KS, so who knows?
Most likely though, since late pledges mean more money for the Company.

I think the Scottish guy is in Polish fraction.
So maybe girl will be just mercenary.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Cool thing for me, that in one update Succubus was named. And another names was mentioned . Hope in future they give for us more sisters. Cuz for me succubus is the best sculpt in this line

Thank you for your support and making this campaign such a success. I must say I love the Dakka forum, because you guys answer each other's question so competently that there isn't much left for me.
Having said that, let me clarify the late pledge / pledge manager situation: the late pledge option will become available in a few days, and the full-blown pledge manager is coming 2-3 months from now
Please note this is not the pledge manager. If you backed us during the campaign (even for $1), please do not use this late pledge. There are only two tiers: the base game and the all in. The other options are coming in the pledge manager.
