I know, seriously! We only know how to win, especially when playing against miserable West Coasters. Don't worry, more lessons are en route in February! I'll even teach you how to win at craps!
Gentlemen, Gentlemen... There's no need to argue which coast is better when they're both inferior to the midwest.

So, with not a small amount of pride I wanted to let everyone know that the LVO 2019 40k Champs cracked 800 registered participants!

WOW!

Thanks so much to everyone coming, we can't wait to see you there.

What this means is that after the last and final expansion (literally no more physical space) we're down to just the last 10 or so tickets available for the event. If you missed out the first two times, this is the last call, you may want to snag a ticket now. After that it comes down to grabbing a wait list spot and hoping someone drops.

See you all in Vegas for the largest 40k event ever!

P.S.: Anyone that wants to come help me with terrain, I will be eternally grateful, lol!

When are you setting up the terrain? 3 of us get in Wednesday afternoon and can probably pencil in a couple hours break from drinking.

That would be greatly appreciated, haha. We have kind of a lot of tables to get set up, lol.

We start set-up Thursday morning. It takes all day, pretty much so any help would be just great.

I ended up picking up a high roller package when the wait list opened up, and I've been trying to get a hold of someone to process the refund of the original ticket (non-highroller package) that I bought previously.

Any news on what's going on there?

I was able to get ahold of Frankie by email to get my refund processed. If you emailed them give it some time. I'm sure they're swamped with all the irons they have in the fire right now.

Yeah, just give Frankie a bit to process the requests. The event has grown so much we're starting to feel the strain of just dealing with this kind of thing as it eats up so much time in the day. We're used to it being far less demanding. We're going to have to change out refund/exchange policy next year as it's become such a tax on our labor resources.

However, that is our problem, not yours. We will get you taken care of Ajax, please just bear with us.

@Reecius with the announcement that the Genestealer Cult codex is being released next and fans speculating it will be sometime in January this concerned cultist would like to know if there is a cut off date for new codex releases to be used at the LVO?

Need me some dirtbikes and a 3D holo-map of Warhammer World at the LVO

Yeah, now that we are rolling out our list requirement along with BCP's ability to pull data off of lists we have to have a deadline. If the dex falls outside of that deadline then yeah! However, I am not certain when it is going to land.

Are 3rd party models/bitz allowed? I have a few sniper drones that are not GW standard.
Also, can I wear a full gorilla costume or is that not allowed.

Lolol, Hotsauce, you kill me, bro!

3rd party bitz and such are fine so long as they are a reasonable substitute, however, be aware that if you do have those you cannot appear on stream if that is a concern of yours.

Gorilla suits encouraged.

OK, how strict is WYSIWYG at these events? For a specific example, I typically run all my Deathwatch as stormbolters, even though they are equipped with the actual DW bolter. If my list contains zero bolters (so there could be no possible confusion) is this an issue, or would I have to remove all bolters and replace with actual stormbolters? Thanks in advance.

For me, this is an issue. Even though they may not be actual bolters in the list, the weapon is so iconic, that it may be confusing for players. I like to look at a model an know what it is armed with. Especially in the later rounds.

At a GT you should be expected to have the primary weapon loaded on a Model. If your running a squad of 10 Vets with stormbolters.. they should be toting actual stormbolters.

You can't say bolters are storm bolters, they need to be easily identifiable. They can be conversions, but all the Storm Bolters must be unique and consistent. So, if you use say, a special type of bigger Bolter such as one from FW or something, and say all of the models holding those types of Bolters are counts as Sotmr Bolters, that is fine. However, they ALL must be that way.

When in doubt, send in pictures.

No worries, good to know. I'll probably skip the Deathwatch then. Too many painted up with the regular bolter that i don't feel like dismantling. Well, I guess that means another Eldar player then.
As far as the late round games go, this is my first event so I'll be playing on the tables near the bar, lol.

Will there be any changes to the Kill Team tournament rules/packet before the event? Specifically, will the Commander expansion for Kill Teams be incorporated into the tournament pack rules?

One year, the bar was located at the shallow end of the tables. That was nice. Last year and the year before, it was in another room, a very long walk away. So, there's incentive to play better unless you've got Fitbit numbers you need to rack up.

Reece, is that something you can still negotiate with Bally's? Not too late? Have it so the bar is on the main 40k Champs area?
srsly

We can have multiple bars but they're really expensive to set up. Each one costs us thousands of dollars to have each one operating to we try to keep it to just the one central location.

I mean, if it were up to me we'd have like 20, lol, but it doesn't fit the budget.

@Equinox

I will check.

Which, last year, was alright, being in the merchant area, but in 2017, when it was down the hall, mostly back to the casino, that blew.

Thanks, Reece. I'm just trying to live up the the responsibility that Dashofpepper gave me (in my signature).

Are chess clocks mandatory at LVO now? Or are we gonna have a 2-turn top table games to watch again?
