Are these points right? As I see it (I might have missed something) the Raptors would be quite a bit more than this. I mean just 10 raptors with the fist, pistols and icon would be 179. Two units would be 358 rather than 318.

I'd really like them to be viable - or frankly even playable - but I am not seeing it. Warp Talons are dreadful. Its index creep perhaps - but they are still incredibly fragile, and for their points should have at least 3 attacks - possibly even 4. As it is they do very little.

The same applies to your Raptor squads. Rerolls to hit help - but its still a relatively small number of S4 Ap- attacks. In a world of Marines versus Marines they might have a place. As it is they don't.

You can say maths doesn't cover everything - and I agree, it often doesn't. But its hard to see how units this bad can be effective on the battlefield. They don't kill anything relevant. While at the same time being incredibly easy to kill.

No - you're right. I fudged it up.

The biggest problem is it depends on World Eaters to get the most out of them. I agree that some parts of marines units aren't in a very strong position, but they're not entirely hopeless either.

I would never go suggest someone make Raptors work in any list - that just can't happen.

At least now Haarken is back to being a solid "maybe" instead of a "pass completely".
