Exact. Just choose one of the buggies you like and you can add the other one later. Unfortunately Kickstarter is very unflexible when combining the pledges.

I read the new title and thought it meant the KS was having a few technical issues. Lol

Buggy looks great!

That's a real comfy looking seat, I can imagine the gunner being much more alert than if he was being held on by say, a single strap.

Aaaand it's already funded. Nice.

Another question: will the armored big buggy be compatible with the 25mm turrets on your website? I think it might look pretty cool with the tank-hunter gun.

The buggies are excellent! good paint jobs really sells them!

I want to design something similar.. but it might take years, so for now I have backed this project!

No. But it is compatible with the turret from the Infantry Assault Vehicle.

Hi! I was wondering to purchase your tanks to play Horus Heresy Imperialis Militia. Perhaps count-as Macharius or count-as Gorgon, but I have an impression that your kits are significantly smaller. Any thoughts on that?

cheers!

Just realized that the stationary gun platforms are now on the website.
There is also a nice Terrain upgrade kit for the medium transport that includes propellers for amphibic propulsion. A great detail as I somehow missed it on the chimera that is listed as amphibic but has no visible means of water propulsion.

Aside from that I second FalxCerebri: a size comparison to GW/Forgeworld tanks would be nice.

The medium tank, and assault transport with standard vehicles.

Because the alpha body is a tad bigger

His larger tank is smaller than a Macharius, but I think would make a suitable stand in. it will take me a few minutes to dig that one up.

For the record I'm just a fanboy who likes his tanks.

Wow, smaller than I remembered.

Everything is great. Wow it's been a while since I went on that site.
The only thing I can say I'd like to see and suggest is add-on spare track links. That would really make my day.

The first model is already sculpted. The others will follow after the Kickstarter. We will try our best to meet the sketches as close as possible.

Huh. I would've liked to see how much the standard rat heavy weapons would fit fantasy.

I'm sooo, sooo sorry.

Hi guys, In case you are wondering about some copyright claims by me against another company. Here is my point of view:

Hi, you might have heard about a copyright issue between Mortian and another company with a Patreon and Kickstarter campain.

Here is my side of the story:

Hannes(a German painter) made an illustration of the cyberrats in 2017 with the iconic design of the helmets.
The other company used this design without contacting Hannes to make some early Sci-Fi Rat 3D models in 2018.
I found the illustration from Hannes and bought the rights on these designs from him in 2019.
I commissioned more sketches from Hannes for the Cyberrat project in 2019.
The other company started to make his Sci-Fi rat 3D models.
I told the other company that it has some very nice models and asked to change the design of the helmets because it was too close to the designs from Hannes. The other company didn't answer.
I asked Patreon and Kickstarter to stop the projects of that other company as these violate the intellectual property of the helmet design from Hannes (which I bought)
The other company said on Facebook that their designs are made after the illustration from Hannes
Patreon reacted and stopped his account. KS is still in discussion.

So the whole story is about two helmets that other company is refusing to change.
They can do Sci-Fi rats or whatever he does now. But not with the designs an artist made especially for me. Attached are some pictures so that you get a better feeling of what I am talking about.

There is a difference between intellectual property and copyright.
Please google it yourself. I cannot give you legal advice on this. But I will try to explain it in my words:

Copyright:
This means your product (or whatever) is registred and it is not allowed to make a 1 by 1 copy of it. For example: You are not allowed to recast a miniature and sell these. (in Germany it is allowed to recast a miniature as long as you only use it by yourself)

Intellectual Property:
This means your product (or whatever) does not need to be registred if your idea is so new and unique to everything else. You gain these rights just by creating it. The definition of what is new or unique enough to get kind of protection is very difficult.

So I am not claiming to have the IP of humanoid rats, or Sci Fi rats. I just claim that the design of the helmets is unique enough to get this kind of protection. The issue is that The other company is using exactly this design of the helmets. And that is the reason why I became active.

The Wasteland

So you make tanks that HEAVILY borrow from Forge World without a second thought.

Then you HEAVILY borrow from their Elysian line for your drop troops.

Now someone else has an idea similar to yours and you stomp it out before you even make yours.

...that's awesome

That's some low quality trolling right there.

Well, he did work for Forgeworld so it's possible those are design elements he helped develop in the first place. GW is very defensive of their IP which he doesn't seem to have run afoul of.

He owns the image that the other company says they used for the design of their helmet.

Good to see all this cyberat action, sad that the other company didn't acknowledge the issue and adjust their inspiration accordingly.

Doesn't he have a point? How fast and loose can 'inspiration' be and who gets to be the plucky underdog in any given situation?

I may not be au fait with corporate practises, but if he does design work for Forgeworld while working at Forgeworld, aren't those designs then owned by Forgeworld?

If you work as an artist at Disney that doesn't mean Disney owns the doodle you sketched on a napikin while out at the bar on Sat. Artists/designers don't sign over their soul.

And no troll doesn't have a point. GW doesn't own armour panels and WWI treads. And if they think they do they're perfectly capable of reaching out to Mortian, the way he did with these other folks.

Not sure what disney's employment contract is but if it's made on a company laptop at any time, or company licensed software at any time, or during business hours on site it would likely be owned by disney.

Apparently an oblong helmet is a unique protectable design concept! Who knew?!

Someone should probably let GW know that their failure to claim geometric shapes in court (remember the SM shoulder pad in the Chapterhouse?) has been overturned! I'm sure they'll be very grateful to have that bit of legal advice passed on from whatever lawyer Mortian consulted.

Yeah, no, on a more serious note, what the hell is this for an IP claim? It's a joke, right?

Even if they drew inspiration from the piece of artwork you later bought, the helmet is quite clearly different in every minor detail, from the huge eyepiece to the lack of spikes on the top. Certainly enough that no court would seriously consider it a copy. It would quite obviously be deemed a separate work for legal and artistic purposes.

I get that you want to be the only one doing 'Sci-Fi Rat With An Oblong Helmet', but you're well outside the grounds of IP protection here. Games Workshop doesn't get to copyright 'Dwarven Warrior With a Rune-Encrusted Helmet', and Disney don't get to have 'Evil Space Wizard Helmet with Rebreather'. It would have to be a unique creation and they'd have to be actually matching the picture in details to even try and get a claim off the ground. Which, as we can see from the two pictures, it very clearly doesn't. Not even close. I even drew up a little chart to make it clear.

You can't IP an asthetic.
But the armour in the pictures is close enough in design, and the maker has admitted they did draw from the artwork, so that's a confession innit?

I just don't see the Elysian likeness of the drop troops. I've been staring at them for hours now and there's. . .
there's. . .
there's. . .

Nothing there.
