So, going into the 2nd half of 2021....

*Things have indeed improved over 2020. So that's a +.
The downside? We've all become busier than ever it seems. Wich leads to:
*So far I've gotten to play a bit less than hoped for.
*The planned PTG/campaign pretty much fizzled.
*Painting of the STD Maurader army is bogged down.
*The D&D senario/Sigmar demo they're planned for is thus delayed (until Aug.(?).

The marauder army PLAYS well at both the 1k & 2k pts lv as a Sigmar force.
Or at least it did until last week when it suffered slight pts changes....

I found a decent mix of good looking & affordable town terrain.

I had a lot of fun piloting a "Grand Alliance: Death" army in the shops escalation league. I ended up with a 3/3 record & 5/6 decent - excellent games.
That 6th game? While it was a hard loss to the Lumineth, what really screwed me was the mission & it's deployment rules.
‐-‐-----‐------------------------------------------

So, revised goals!

*PLAY MORE!
*re-relaunch the PTG/campaign this fall using the new 3e stuff.
*Get that Marauder army project back on track asap
**get that Sigmar demo/narrative/D&D scenario onto the shops table shortly thereafter.

Honestly, probably nothing in AoS this year. At best, I might start collecting models for Warcry to build up to AoS, but it's such an expensive investment, I doubt I'll be able to do much more than that before next year, if even that.

Of course, investment in to Battletech may be taking a higher priority, too.

I spent the first quarter building up my armies, now I'm spending the summer creating the armies.

Plans so far are:

Complete my Lumineth Project (Build + Paint): Current Progress is about 9% of what I have.

Complete my Soulblight Project (Build + Paint): Current Progress is 0% of what I have.

Complete my Orruck Warclans Project (Build + Paint): Current Progress is about 40% of what I have. Might expand to add some Savage Orrucks to the mix, but right now it's IronJawz and Kruelboyz.

Complete my Lizardmen Project (Build + Paint): Current Progress is 0%.

Complete my Stormcast Project (Build + Paint): 0% Progress.

I am planning on starting Sons of Behemet in the Fall.

I'm hoping for new Terrain kits for AoS as I want to build my own table for private games with friends outside of the FLGS.

Otherwise, I'm interested in the rumored Chaos Dwarves, and I really want to pick and start a Chaos faction at some point, but I am not really keen on anything but Slaves to Darkness or the mortal side of Slaanesh with the greater deamons and the twins.

Got in my first game of the new edition yesterday (my Mawtribe feasted on a Cities of Sigmar army) and next is to start a path to glory campaign. Now I'm switching to a Slaves to Darkness army. At this point I only have the starter box so I have a lot of stuff to get but this allows for a slow build.

Honestly my AoS 3.0 is more or less the same as all of last year; wait for NH to get our much-awaited new book before unshelving my spooky bois.

After playing through the Realmgate Wars some time back (https://ttgamingdiary.wordpress.com/2017/07/04/the-realmgate-wars-a-retrospective/), I have been hankering for a similar experience (well, once we had recovered somewhat from that epic!). I meandered my way through some armies for the Burning of Prospero in the Heresy and the Plague Wars of 40k, but have now committed to getting done all the forces needed for the Wrath of the Everchosen campaign.

Unfortunately, somewhere along the way I decided this should use very large armies to get the point across!

Thanks to the Mortal Realms magazine (plus some other bits and pieces), I now have a decently-sized Nighthaunts army and am close to finishing off the Ossiarchs. After that, with all the models I already had for the Realmgate Wars, I really just need a new Marauder-based army and some other bits and bobs.

Then, I suppose, I will have to start looking at Broken Realms.

(Already started picking up models for that one...).
