Hi Eggy, nicely painted Chappies! i've been lurking and watching you still mostly from your cupboard but sometimes from under your bed, I still love the approach you take to all your miniatures, they all look so good together especially those new chaplains.

Do you have any idea when you'll be trying your rather fantastic hand at anything other than BA? I'd love to see how you attack another force, would you be starting a new blog for them or adding it into this one? I don't want to miss a thing!

Keep it up dude, looking forward to the Baal! :-)

Quick update with some work in progress pics. Started painting up my damocles command rhino. Starting out with the interior and the two little men inside:

Need to glue down the top and prime the outside now. Stay tuned!

Thanks nerdfest! Good to know you're the cupboard lurker
I want to do something other than BA but I'm forcing myself to finish off this army before starting a new one. I've already stockpiled a ton of Grey Knights, Orks and Dark Eldar. I'm thinking Orks would be a nice change of pace from the armor and "high tech" stuff. Love the ork models, they're so whimsical. Once I move on to another force, I'll create a new blog, this one is dedicated to the BAs

I like the look of the inside of the Damocles, Eggroll - the bank of screens in particular.

For some reason, I can't help thinking that one of those marines needs a mug of coffee on the desk in front of him...

Because nothing says comfortable IT worker like POWER ARMOR!

Seriously, can you imagine being stuck in a tin can wearing bulky armor trying to type?

Looks great so far. Is the interior scratch built or is that part of the FW kit?

That is brilliant! :-) I absolutely agree a cup of coffee is paramount to sound tactical decisions though! looks so good, and the screens all look perfect!

Fab work as always! I have always loved the chaplain figures and your painting has really done the justice!

Command rhino interior is impressive. Not sure I would have the patience to paint all those screens!

Heh, yeah, there are some circular insets on the actual console desk that I couldn't figure out what they were for. A bit small but I think appropriately scaled for a human sized coffee mug!

Thanks and no, not scratch built, it came with the FW kit. If I could scratch build something like this, I'd be impressed

They're not complaining, they're just really engaged in a game of COD.

Thanks Commander Cain. The screens did take awhile but weren't too bad.

Man, the work on those control panels and screens is phenominal Egg... really cool. Now the question is... how do you make all that effort visible when it's on the gaming table? You need a fold-out roof or a roof with clear parts or something. Really, something that cool needs to have a way to show it off.

Thanks Gits! Good question and I ended up just going with the top of the sister's repressor kit. Unfortunately it doesn't show off the guys and consoles unless I shine a flash light in there. Oh well...

Thanks SL. Good idea on the book though since I decided to use the repressor top, I don't really have a chance to show off the interior as much so I didn't want to put anymore work in the interior.

Update for the weekend. Ended up finishing the Damocles kitbash. I realized this whole model cost over 80 pounds (about $120). Overall, I'm not sure it was worth it. FW hasn't really impressed me lately with their quality...the extra armor and repressor kits were horrible in quality, most of the smaller details such as rivets looked melted away. A sign that their molds are way past their proper cast life. Had to email FW with photos of their crappy models, got sent replacements which ended up with the same issues

Anyway here are the finished photos:

Ended up magnetizing the guys on the chairs so they're removable along with the dozer blade.

Stunning egg. Have you considered some LED lighting? Just one bulb to light up the interior?

Thanks Gits. The LED would have been a good idea though a bit late for me to wire things up now...oh well. I'll keep that in mind if I do another interior.

Thanks shingouki. Good idea with surfing dakka on the monitors. Was actually thinking about putting some "questionable" content on some of the screens at one time during painting but since the screens were going to be hidden in the end, I figured it wasn't worth the effort

Bloody amazing work Eggroll (no pun intended). Definitely subscibing to your thread.

I can't believe I haven't seen your P&M until today. Although I'm exclusively a Xenos convertor, thanks to your painting prowess, I can now see the appeal of wanting to collect a Space Marine. You've not only done the models justice but you've litterally brought them to life and given them a level of character that's typically only seen on prize winning models. That you would paint a whole army to a contest-level speaks volumes of your abilities and your passion for painting. Then again, considering you had the Massive Voodoo website loaded up on your monitor it doesn't really surprise me. I'd say you've matched their level of skill with your models for sure.

I actually don't know how to play the game and don't know anyone else that plays. Maybe once I finish more models later this year, I'll get myself into a shop for a demo game.

Did you get that demo game in yet? Seeing as how I live in White Rock, it would be my pleasure to give you a demo over a friendly game. Just send me a PM if it's something you're interested in.
