i assume, if they're going to be an entire team, it's not just the guys that surround techmarines. probably an AdMech unit. very curious what this, because it's an area of lore where it could really be a lot of things

likewise for tyranids. cannot begin to imagine what this box will look like

So, for the Reliquant they just took Martin Luther and gave him a Banner and a flamer pistol, right?

The concept of a gang of servitors on a desperate mission on a tyranid planet sounds crazy, but have possibilities. Convicts sent on a desperate suicide mission is a classic theme, just this time the convicts get lobotomized and highly bionically enhanced first. So weird to have two teams that dont have individual will between the fighters in a skimish game.

yeah, i was thinking about that aspect. it makes sense for tyranids, since they're always like that, but would the servitor team come with a tech priest or something to control them?

There is also a current reliable rumour that Tyranid Terrain will be released in the near future. Maybe that will be part of this KT box release.

It sounds like the KT could be tied either to Hive Fleet Tiamet and their Living Continent or to the teased Death Star from Crusade:Leviathan.

"Tyranid terrain" - if true, this must mean this is planned for second season of KT24, since season 1 is revolving around that great gun and Volkus

I kind of like the "servitors vs nids" theme.. I'd wager that servitor team ends up being AdMech in some form, but what could the tyranid team be about? Genestealers and Lictors? Something new?

Oh, hey, with the next box on the way, the teams for the current one should be released around the same time, right? The vespids and aquilons landed (heh) around the time Brutal and Cunning was released.

The seasonal theme can be *very* loose sometimes. I mean recycling the SOB statue has basically nothing to do with Volkus.

Well it is an Imperial world; random giant statues are just kind of a thing that happens.

Also, I had a crazy idea: what if the Great Gun was originally an STC construct but when they were inputting the parameters, someone pinched to zoom in but instead accidentally scaled the blueprint to planetary size and the poor STC system just dutifully went ahead and printed the appropriate instructions?

I disagree, those kinds of statues are probably all over Imperial worlds, including Volkus. But unless the Hivestorm lore talks about Tyranids attempting to invade the planet, I'm just not seeing nids vs servitors on Season 1. Just my opinion.

Bear in mind that Season 2 should kick off late summer already, thats in less than 6 months..

Valrak is now saying that the rumours for GK & Khorne kill teams were actually given to him separately and then assumed it meant a GK vs Khorne boxed set. It is worth noting that while he hasn't had much specific KT info recently, he did get the "Blood & Zeal" name correct. That means he has an inside source, even if they're not telling him a whole lot of details.

So plausibly we could have GK with the 4th box in this season (landing before their codex), then the Tyranids & Servitors kick off the next season.

Two Lictors were sitting in their arbour, talking about how to cultivate the plants. Suddenly the gardener Van Ryan leaps in.
'Sorry, we have a problem. There's a Servitor infestation in our garden. So much of them, hordes, we can't wipe them out. They burn our crops and destroy the trees!'
The Lictors were concerned. How should they deal with a swarm of mindless opponents that only exist to blight this beautiful world, ruining their basic food ressource.

'We must act', said Siegfried, one of the Lictors. 'We must send the 106th Termagant to keep them at bay.'
Lictor Giovanni pondered. 'Yes, I agree. But we also need a Kill Team to find and exterminate those creatures who are behind this attack.'
'Yes', Siegfried answered. 'Some evil Xenos mind must be responsible for this invasion of our peaceful world. Who do you recommend for such a mission?'
'Xao Li and Horst. Together with the leapers Marvin and Lutz.'
'Horst is a killer', Siegfried mused. 'And I heared great things about Lutz.'
'Do you agree?'
'Yes!'

Battle Servitors already exist in the Kataphron Destroyers / Breachers, so it could just be an upgrade sprue - but that would make for a very small Kill Team...
(But we all know AdMech don't get any nice toys!)

A servitor Kill Team would be the ideal way to fully retire the old metal minis that we used to have. (I thought they were still sold... I was wrong)

Probably would be great for customization. Throw in the old Chrono-Gladiator or Servitor Ogryn and you'd probably have a fun team.

A tech priest with a bunch of weird servitors sounds awesome.

Considering the number of armies that can use them, I’m shocked we haven’t seen a plastic servitor box years ago.

They just need to make them worth taking in a game.

That’s fair. But they can suck in so many different armies!

I vaguely recall one edge-case use in one edition where they were not completely useless. But they are an iconic part of 40k. Although one that GW might be shying away from…

That KT expansion is AWESOME.

It should be as reasonably priced as the Ratling v. Tankbusta set, which was surprisingly reasonable. But MAN do I want to slot those Ecclesiarchy models into my Sisters army.

I could never get behind the the Battle Sanctum because of the price, but I've regretted not getting it. This statue was the best part of the Fortification, which does still have a Legends card. The building part can be any reasonable facsimile of a church ruin, but the statue was difficult to duplicate.

As for Khorne: he was never my top chaos choice, but I always did want Karanak, a pack of hounds, and maybe that Warcry team where the cultists venerate the flesh hounds. These models, though not a high priority for me, will find use, and I do like the mechanical leg theme.

I love this set!

The normal Servitors are Legends for some time now. Though that doesn't mean GW is 'shying away' from them - Grimaldus and Helbrecht have some, there're two in the Inqisition Kill Team, the WH+ Inquisitor has one - and there're Arco-flagellants, Cherubim and Tech Thralls who are more or less Servitors as well. They dropped the Servitor retinue because they have no plastic kit. Why? Who knows, maybe they just don't want a kit for so many armies (Mechanicus, Space Marines of all flavours, Militarum, Agents) and want to keep the ranges seperate.

GW could just go full cherub with the servitors, and make them 'tokens' that their tech-priest - marine or -enginseer discards when they use some ability or other.

I often find when building SM lists I have some 55-60 points. Too much for anything codex, so it's usually the cheap Inquisitor, or 2 Heavy Weapons from the Servitors.

There are some clandestine core rules updates in the app, but you need to first update it from the app store. Sneaky and certainly NOT how living rules should be introduced (no info in the app when it's turned on, nothing on WH Community).

A pretty significant change makes models unable to get both Cover and Obscuring from the same terrain piece. Also, Plant Beacon required distances ignore ITD walls.

New box goes up for pre-order next week

...which seems a quick turnaround.

Ratlings, Orks, and the terrain from their box also getting their individual releases.

GW confirmed unable to count.

Kill Team: Blood and Zeal contains two completely new kill teams. The Sanctifiers are nine Imperial zealots, including the likes of the Conflagrator, the Death Cult Assassin, the Drill Abbot and the Miraculist, who have been stoked into action by the rabid oration of the Confessor (a priestly figure attended by a Cherub). The Goremongers are a cohort of seven cybernetically enhanced operatives like the Impaler, the Skullclaimer and the Stalker who follow the commands of the towering Goremonger Blood Herald.

Disagree, the language choices made aren't inclusive or exclusive of the squad leaders explicitly. I thought they'd miscounted at first and consider it poorly worded.
